This has to be the best Optimus prime figure I’ve seen in ages. Really good painting and sculpting, lots of care put into the transformation, and it looks really good in general.

it is a ko os of the mpm version (heavily modified), which was a retool of the ROTF Leader Optimus.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. A lot of the engineering from the ROTF Optimus mold still holds up, MPM Optimus merely honed it further, and Black Apple/Wei Jiang perfected it

Honestly the bit that sold it for me was the fact that even the headlights were accurately positioned. No faux headlights. Just put it on a hinge extension and bring it all the way to the front.

I have to say this to those who have yet to collect this piece. The camera does nothing for it. It looks nice on camera, don't get me wrong. However. You can not see exactly how incredibly beautiful this figure is withoit seeing it with your own eyes. This figure is by far the best MovieVerse Transformable figure. In either mode he is just breathtaking. Has/Tak, BmB, and whoever else made an effort to this Optimus Prime from Screen to figure pales in comparison. Wei-jiang have without question outdone themselves. I absolutely love this figure. And now.....l can not wait to see if they will stay on this path with their OS version of MpM IRONHIDE.

Oh I agree. Just got him yesterday, and the issues I had with him, the chest and his tiny head, are not at all as bad as I thought they would be. He looks absolutely amazing in person.

@@hanadashi3910 l technically wouldn't call it a bootleg. I would, however describe as a mass produced customized action figure. Thats just me. This surpasses the Has/Tak mpm version. Im my opinion Has/Tak looks like a cheap bootleg of this.

@@lrj_ I'd hesitate to call the MPM a retool as much as I would say they just share similar engineering. There's quite a few differences to justify calling it a new mold. Then this figure changed it up even more, which is why I can hardly consider Thunder Leader a knockoff.

Excellent review, I really love that figure but I've been looking for it and I can't find it. You who are more experienced in this issue of transformers figures do you have any information or news if they re-create and distribute that figure? or if you know someone who may have it to buy it?

This figure is a bit too tall and the mpm figure is a tiny bit too small in my opinion. I would love an under-scaled version of this figure. Like between the size of this figure and the mpm Optimus prime in robot mode. Like the same exact size as the unique toys Optimus prime in robot mode. Not vehicle mode, but robot mode. In vehicle mode he should be the same size as the mpm Optimus prime. He would fit so well with all of the figures.

This figure has a terribly designed transformation. MPM4 has a nicely complex but intuitive and fun transformation, while this guy hits us with tons of tiny fragile hinges and flimsy pieces that have to flex around each other and bullshit. The gas tank guns alone are more complex than some deluxe figures! I hate them and if I ever transform this thing again I'm leaving them off. Sooooo much effort for a TINY bit of added accuracy. Thanks for the video though, Emgo!
