Most times the first cut is always a race against the rain and wet fields. This time I had some issues but got a lucky window to get it cut and baled. If it didn't happen then, it still wouldn't be done almost a month later!

I love the crazy cow/bull vids, but I also enjoy these farming vids. It's very satisfying to watch a hard-working dude problem-solving issues and pushing on through the work day. Nice editing on this one - the variety of viewpoints is always interesting.

I’m surprised you were able to take and bale it with all the damn rain that we’ve been getting here in TX! Hay videos and cattle videos are all great, this is your channel, you out whatever videos up you want.

All your videos are good not matter what you cover. Anything to do with agriculture and the real farm life are worth watching.

I enjoyed this video very much. There is so much more to farming that chase cattle in a pen. Hay protects the bottom line and for you all that is very important. Growing and producing your own hay is vital.

It’s probably because anybody with a few acres can try and be a cowboy, but it’s a lot of money to get started cutting hay. Keep the hay cutting and baking videos coming.

We are 1000 bales into first cutting we lack a little over 600 acres but we are down in yield in most of our fields we should be near 1300 or 1400 but we did get started early this year

It’s boring if crap doesn’t breakdown. Baling on the hills of East TN makes it even more fun.

I know this feeling all to well lol be on eggshells the entire day just waiting on something to break! It’s just a good feeling when you do get done though! Have y’all ever put up any wet hay??

We will leave it till its dry but we have lots of farmers around that cut it on Monday and roll it on Tuesday regardless of temp,humidity and cloud cover it drives me insane hay just steaming out . To top that insanity hahhah they then put it in a barn one guy lost two barns to fire and he still rolls wet hay. I have even seen a new guy out rolling hay at 7am and he had hay stuffed up from the pickup to the rear wheels and had the door open trying to cut the hay out of pickup biggest pile of grass I have ever seen

What do you normally get an acre? You said only 4 round bales per acre. I know our old land got more than that. Your hay looks tall.
@TheFarmGuy
@TheFarmGuy 3 жыл бұрын
4 to the acre is a lot! These are big 5x6’ bales. That field made more hay this first cut than it ever has. First cutting is always higher. The next few will be around 2-3 per acre if we’re lucky.

@@TheFarmGuy yeah I think are old ones were only 4x5 but the guy he cut for me would get 6 or 7 usually. He did some in sq bales so I could put them in stalls for horses. I love watching your videos and you are right here in N TX.
