Some ole fella commented on my last video that he sawed into a log and hit a Singer Sewing Machine. That's wild! Have you found anything more interesting than nails? I appreciate your videos, Shannon
@nicholssawmillandmore2 сағат бұрын
Hello Shannon. That's crazy for sure! I've sawn or side swiped all sizes of nails fence insulaters, tree stand spikes, 3/8 inch steel chain, a rock, and an actual horse shoe from a horse. Probably more stuff. But that's all I can think of. Folks put crazy stuff in trees not thinking about the future of the tree.

Buy yourself a metal detector and check each log before sawing you will not get this problem . 👍
@nicholssawmillandmore2 күн бұрын
It was metal detected but was too deep for it to pick it up. Thanks
@arkansas13362 күн бұрын
Too bad about the metal but at least no one got hurt. I'm glad you didn't damage the 'saw plate'.....?
@nicholssawmillandmore2 күн бұрын
Yes that's for sure. Thanks
@williamellis89933 күн бұрын
It was fortunate that it was only the bits were damaged. That could have been a lot worse and really expensive. Bill

Yes I agree.

@@nicholssawmillandmore The old sawyer/loggers grandson that has the mill now has 1/2 a saw blade for his fireplace hearth. NICE! He's a Jason too!

Damn, your saw sounded good until you hit the metal. That just burns my A$$ when it happens.

What kind of sawbits do you use Jason I’ve never seen that shape of bits before

Was a metal detector used on this huge log? If so, the metal was imbedded beyond the range of the detector.
@nicholssawmillandmore2 күн бұрын
It was and you are correct, it was too deep
@joestone20682 күн бұрын
Oh ya that sucks for sure. I once sawed into part of a pick axe boy talk about noise 😱

Yep it always does

You can hear the tune of the saw change as soon as it hit that metal. It sure was not happy. It started skipping.
