Nice Florida spotted garr. I guess I'm not the only one who lives in garr city. I would use top water lures. Less chance of them swallowing the hook. Sucks but it happens. Eagle claw panfish hooks work great for those garr. You could bend the hook out even if they swallow it. Garr are a very hardy fish and quite tasty baked or fried.

People were having a problem last year on the east coast with water moccasins.Turns out that when someone would catch a bass and reach in the mouth to unhook it, they would get bitten by water moccasins that the bass had recently just swallowed.

Hey great video Kelly. Killing it in the freshwater. I've noticed down in South Florida there seems to be a lot of private bodies of water. I've only been kicked off a lake once in my life. I've always thought that was odd. Keep up the good work Hun

Just a thought....i've commented before about growing up in Sarasota and fortunately spending Summers on Lake Okeechobee in an Airboat. Couple things my Grandparents taught me. When i catch a fish, 95% of the time, i kiss it on the nose for good luck before i release it, rub some of their slime on my Rapala, worm or lure of choice...and my Grandmother always spit on her worm when fishing for bream. *Sidenote: Roland Martin is as Great a fisherman as he says he is, and he does it While talking at 120db on the boat....Never could figure that out? I was Always taught to be quiet, Haha.

What’s up Kelly? I spent years bowfishing back in the day, and at one point had the (unofficial) record spotted gar. Alabama doesn’t count bowfishing records, only rod and line. 🙁 When we would get bored we’d tie on the biggest ugliest deepest-diving crankbaits we could buy in the clearance bins at WalMart, and catch alligator gar out of the canoe up near the Dam. Fun stuff! 👍🏻

Did y'all know the native American indians used the card scales for arrowheads. For waterfowl and bird's. Along with small game animals. You can make jewelry from them even. Fishing lures if you strike them with a ax or hatchet the scales will. Make a spark with a glancing blow to a unskend alagator gar or a needle nose like that one you caught. Just wanted to share a little information. With y'all God bless you and your family love y'all my friends ❤️
