Build your homes with stone and they use less firewood. Get the woodshop going to produce your wood needs. Make logs. You can quickly craft firewood. Multiple resource shed storage is cumulative. Better tools require less swings to cut tree, mine, etc. Put your rottong food aside to create fertilizer to farm. Highly recommend using fast crafting in the settings.

You really should buy more tech. Besides taxes, your only use for coin are the techs... I know you have kind of a hoarding problem (atleast in games) but consider not hoarding coin :D you could have been hunting with a recurve bow and iron pikes a long time ago...

Curve bow and iron pikes both kinda suck. The long bow works better snd the iron pikes works the same as the wood spear. The iron pike just adds bleed

I really like how your town is articulated around a squared central place ^^ One thing it lacks is a well or a fountain at the center. It'd look very cool. Please make the tavern and hire a manager next!

Each stump you pull is 1 log. You have lots of stumps nearby.

The not paying taxes quest didn't work for me, I did the quest but still had to pay the taxes (even though it claims it will give you a waver), don't want to spoil the quest, you will need to venture to different locations and perform different tasks for NPCs in order to collect, and you have to complete it within tax season, so best to do it soonest.

This game is played out for me I am ready to give up The reason is because the season's are too short to realistically do anything and the quest are not related to your current capabilities and if say someone wants something that's across the map the seasons are too short to go get it in time and there always other chores in your village to do aside from quest but you can't progress the game without completing quest. When starting it's easy to progress until the game gets progressively harder. Especially when you hit a downward spiral losing points on uncompleted quest for unattainable items that you can't make, steal or buy.

Hang in there! This game is still in early access. Devs are working hard on ironing out all of the kinks. I find it helpful to quick save before speaking to NPC offering a quest. If I can't complete the task, I just reload. Once you get more villagers in your town, you can delegate the workload which makes it much easier.

You can also use unstuck to place you back in the middle of the map if you had to run way out to the edge

I'm not liking the micro management that's creeping into the game, the decay mechanic which affects food is I'm sure going to soon be applied to clothing, tools, weapons and possibly more items. The quests are a task and are a huge time sink that involve a lot of travelling which affects time which is already very limited. The entire game is beginning to feel like a time management exercise from building, farming, food rot, hunting and questing. I feel like I have to optimise efficiency to the point where this is a stressful experience not a fun or relaxing game.

@@Quint1975 it might help when horses come in, as long as they don't eat to much, I would like it if you could set the number of days per season, at a minimum I'd probably go with 5, 20 days per year. Id also probably increase the output of other villagers, they cant keep up with the player, not even remotely so its just faster to do stuff yourself.

@@tarrantwolf I'm just going to play the game, build the village, recruit some workers and try to keep it stress free. The game is early access and changes will be made - some good, some not so good. Fingers crossed the devs keep a quality of in-game life in mind when the make their changes and don't turn the game into a spreadsheet of micro management. I've already figured out that salted and dried foods are the easiest to maintain for a village diet. I'll just change my approach to counter whatever hurdles are thrown up.
