You will want to get duty free fuel in Bermuda. There are 2 ways to get duty free fuel. The first is in the Dock Yard. Ask at immigration about how to contact them. The second requires you to fill with a number of boats. The second is bunker delivery. These services are for mega yachts primarily. We used to sail from Tortola to Bermuda on our way back to the states in the Atlantic Cup Rally. We would all off of our fleet together at the cruise ship dock in St George’s and a tank truck would come and fuel all of up at once.

Sailing Zingaro was on a mooring ball in the same Harbor that Atticus was in Bermuda. James of Zingaro was not on his boat, he was moving another boat as a hired CAPTAIN back to Europe. He showed Atticus was on the hook, having a distressing time while the latest tropical storm moved through that area with some pretty heavy winds. That was a few weeks ago so we are keeping our fingers crossed for them and hope all has worked out well without damage to the boat and obviously more importantly all the crew members are safe.

I'm sure it sound odd, and repugnant to some, but the best solution for seasickness I've found I learned in the US Navy. Sliders. The second night out dinner was always a greasy burger with all the toppings. Sometimes it was the last thing in the world I wanted to eat, but it never failed to put a little grease in the plumbing to settle. Oil on troubled waters and all that.

Great video guys. Your safety policy and protocol is second to none and at last a boat that has Jack Lines inboard. Every time I see people clip onto those along the toe rail I cringe that they're in the right place to drown themselves and they think they're so safe. I also don't like to see people with lifejackets on down below. Boat gets knocked down and doesn't right for some reason, lifejacket deploys and you're pinned to the cabin sole whilst you drown! Worse in motor vessels as they don't normally self right. Thank you for bringing us these videos, showing the safest way to sail, stay safe and enjoy

My first offshore trip was from Bermuda to Newport, RI. I assumed I wouldn't have a problem since I rarely got seasick. But the motion of ocean sailing is completely different. I was a basket case for the first 24 hours. On my next offshore trip I tried Transderm Scop (the patch) and it worked great to get me through the first few days until I got my sea legs. I recommend you try the patch so you don't have to suffer during those first days a sea. There is a pharmacy in St. Georges. Also, anything with ginger helps a lot, ginger ale or beer, ginger cookies and ginger tea. Triscuit crackers are great to eat when you can't tolerate anything else. I recommend the St. Georges Dinghy & Sport Club. Great place to tie up with bar, showers, and a short walk down the hill to the village. Try the Whitehorse Pub and Restaurant. I wish I was going with you, I miss Bermuda!

@@williamrae9693 Brenda is the tender of the bar, but I don't believe she's the commodore. I was there in middle of May with the northbound OPO NARC rally, a few weeks ago now, and we tied up at the dinghy club. I believe Sheila is the commodore, if I remember her name correctly. It was a pleasure to meet Brenda; we had fun with her and she's a class act! Hopefully you got a dark and stormy glass at the party! We enjoyed Bermuda immensely!

You will re-establish your sea legs and be fine. Just keep at it. Keep sailing, avoid below decks time and be on deck. There are few sailors who can be below decks cooking etc. early in a voyage after weeks on shore then going off shore in confused sea states.

Hooray ! ! ! I Hooray ! ! ! I Hooray ! ! ! I am so happy for you. Deseree's opening words were, " enjoy the foredeck because you are not coming out here again". Especially with no netting on the safety lines, which I'm sure is no accident. and then you, Jordan, announced, "no time for peeing", "Safety Meeting", "the big thing is where a lifejacket, harnesses once we go out outside so when we go forward, we no longer have side deck "jack Lines" to clip into, after talking with John Kretschmer, we decided to have midship or near midship jack lines like this one right here. I can't physically fall off the boat. At no point in the system should you be able to clip in and fall overboard, because, in a way, that's actually making the situation worse, if you were to fall overboard because you could drown. So, in that way clipping on is a false sense of security". Now I can enjoy your video. You have searched for, located, considered, purchased, and set about to make Atticus II your next and perhaps final family, blue-water, ocean cruising sailboat, and completed an incredible array of important safety and sailing repairs, maintenance, and upgrades. Happy and safe sailing. The good ship, Atticus II, with her worldly acclaimed design, under and above water, and below decks will take you safely and comfortably across every ocean on the planet.
