Just when I thought eBay couldn’t get any worse…

I never imagined that selling on ebay would be this terrible. Since 2022 my sales have become almost non-existent.

I was one of the first power sellers on ebay back in the early 2000's your issue is easily resolved... industries have ups and downs and to prevent your sales to follow the ups and downs you need to expand into different lines of products. I currently sell on 17 different platforms including 3 different ebay stores and my own websites. My income of 30K per month has been very consistent over the last 10 years.

Ebay seems to be using an algorithm to pick and choose which items are seen and which items aren’t…I tried to help my son with an eBay store and literally was getting zero views and no sales for over 30 days…then one day he had like 10 Sara in one day then back to nothing again…they couldn’t give us a reason for it either…very strange…even promoting the items didn’t put the items closer to the top of the search results and I actually had to put in the exact title and finally found the item on page 10 after 30 minutes of searching

best video I've watched all week. I love how real you are on here Josh. I hate that ebay is screwing you and so many sellers with their hands off, head in the clouds approach, gaslighting, manipulating, and ecommerce greed. Or..maybe they are just inept. Either way it's inexecusable at this point.

I wonder if it’s like this for foreign sellers? I’m betting a lot of this is isolated to the US sellers….seems like they’re wanting our economy to collapse since they keep attacking all the side hustle type industry…ending gig work and so on…

I think this is a consumer sentiment issue rather than an ebay issue. People are just being tighter with their money these days. Even big retailers like Target, and Walmart have acknowledged this. In regards to motorcycle parts, they've become less popular over the years. Look at Harley sales over the past decade for perspective. This generation is simply trying to survive, and we cant afford the luxuries the previous generations had. (30k street glides etc.) I know for me, this is all true. I do not spend like I did even a year ago, and find myself questioning almost every purchase. TL;DR the economy is not healthy and people are struggling big time.

My auto and truck parts are still doing okay. I have been trying to cut back a little this year, so my decline of 15% from last year looks about right. The only surprise this year, so far, May was up a little, and June is down a little. Overall, markets change. Buyers priorities change. They can change, almost overnight.

Turn your promoted off for several hours and turn on again with a new promotion after 3 months the promotion is old.. eBay told me that! Morals of the story now with eBay! Have your inventory at home no overheads for storage! You’ll be less stressed without a warehouse! eBay can fix it by getting rid of promoted ..

Hi Josh it’s Gina. I’ve just renamed my channel so hubby and I can do KZbin. But not reselling content. lol I’m with you on the sales. I’ve fallen off the cliff. My hubby thinks eBay is selling server time to someone else. I just know I’m sick of seeing it’s not you it’s us. Plus the ai search when looking for items is worse than ever. I sell oem auto parts. I've been consistently up over 50% month over month. Many, many others are as well. Not sure what you're doing wrong,, but you need to take a look at your listings. I promise ebay could care less about you as an individual and are not targeting you.

Around Feb of this year, I knew that ebay was going to be worst than last year, so I reactivated my Amazon account. Along with Poshmark, Mercari and Etsy, it helped to stay float (financially). If I haven't done crosslisting and Amazon, I would of been screw. Right now there is NO POINT putting more work into ebay b/c it is pointless, the more work you put in, less sale you make. I would say just maintain the ebay but focus on growing other platform

10:32 I'm a true 1000% everything seller Josh a to z and everything in between but if you are going to get into other categories besides parts i suggest get into if you can the categories that eBay has as FOCUSED categories like fashion that is where Darth is doing now clothing and stoic is in clothing that is why clothing sellers are allegedly killing it because EBAY promotes that category via ADS on TV and Social, they Promote those types of listings over others this is fact its why its called a FOCUSED category so yeah if your just now going to branch out to other categories id try one of the focused Categories

Hang in there. Keep listing and doing what you can control. I don't think its your items either. I think it's Ebay tweaking and changing their software and servers. Eventually this lull, will subside. Do what you can. Hope the best for you.

Here’s one for ya. about a month ago I get emailed by eBay that my account is suspended for undisclosed reasons and you can’t contest is it’s final. No reason nothing. Now here’s the kicker , I had Pending shipments and sales about 400 pending now Gata wait 70 days for it to clear. 100% feedback over 3.5 years doing over 3,000 plus on slow months. Crazy how they can just do that zero explanation nothing.

8:29 YEP 100% Josh its the same old show just a different month they will speak praise when there sales are great but then COMPLAIN when they there sells take a crap like they are ENTITLED to daily sales or to make $1000 a day NO where in eBay's TOS does it say that ANY seller is Entitled to any of that same with every other platform NO where in any other platforms TOS does it say SELLERS are entitled to any of that. Sorry are having a bad month feel free to complain and document it May was My best month in a few years Since Jan it has been steady but March and April i had 3 0 days May i had 2 June rolled around and bamm started off really slow its starting to pick up and all we as can do is Hope the next 2 weeks of June and everything balances out but i am experimenting this summer with a few things one is only doing end and sell similar after 90 days on all items so i wont be ending and selling similar until Sept 1st i want to see if that will affect my sales velocity or will have the same amount of sales because if i get the same amount of sales as i did when i was doing it once a month its less work i have to do (ill only have to do it every 90 days in stead of every 30 days i also increased my PL 1.1% so i promote at 2 levels $20 and under is 5% and $20 and over is 3% so each was raised by 1.1% im going to keep these as is for the summer and see what if any affects this has on sales.

Fortunately I DO have the luxury of choosing. Are you saying the ONLY way to make a buck on eBay is by selling used women’s clothing? I get that if that’s what is working for you then that’s cool. It's the economy that is so much worse than what is being put out with MSM. The government wants us to think it's not as bad as it is. There are big layoffs, business closings, and most people are having to work 2 to 3 jobs to pay their bills.

Something is happening with eBay. I have no idea what it is and you would most likely go nuts trying to figure it out. My guess is that they implemented some kind of broken ass AI system for how to evaluate sellers, and there something went VERY wrong. Like you and Josh must have been taken of the search results completely or something, like you are being ghosted, for some stupid/broken reason, and the few sales you get are from people who follow your store and check it out from time to time. Very creepy and shady. I don't know how old your store is if you want to "protect" it or not, I know alot of thoughts can go into that, but could making a new one be worth trying? I can only say I dont think it will get better from here on.. sadly..

I had 2 weeks of good sales but still not pre apocalypse ebay. Last week 50% down, this week I'm going to be down 50% from last week. I'm so tired of bipolar ebay. Clothing reseller.
