“You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary.” ― Jonathan Edwards

This is priceless, really. In a few well chosen words Jonathan Edwards clarifies the reality. Wow!

Thank you! Excellent clarification: That the Lord does not want us to flaunt our sins. And, neither does the Lord want us to attempt to cover them up or not consider them.

Who is the blessed man if we have no assurance that we will be saved in the end? Phillipians 1:6 being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Mercy and Grace are wonderful and amazing. Not only are we not punished for our sins - Jesus died to take that away (MERCY), but we get perfect reconciliation with God through Christ and eternal life - God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense (GRACE). This continues to astound me daily in humbleness and thanksgiving. Thanks for the reminder since I often act like the older son in the “Prodigal Son” story

Seen recently online. " SS teacher asks, who was sad to see the prodigal son come home? Little one answers, " the fatted calf?"

You reminded me of Reconciliation of sin, that my sins are imputed on Jesus. I've studied it over the the years! It was so beautiful I got all teary-eyed as you spoke it! That as we will stand before the Father "sinless", our sin will be imputed on Jesus our Lord! Hallelujah!! Thank You Jesus, Thank you for another AWESOME Drive Home message that made us Think to be Grateful!

Does KZbin have a transcription function? Target your rides home in a more focused way although they’re already pretty focused. Then you can copy paste an edit later. That’s how you write in the car. I have played with similar concept while I’m walking the dogs but then the neighbors think I am crazy talking to myself. 😂

Luther is peaking out from the back seat. He knows how. much the sinful self wants to reject the simplicity of the free gift of grace. We want to play a part in this so bad. The crushing weight of sin pales to the crushing weight of grace which leaves us dumbstruck, and yet at that moment free as you finally see that weight is all the guilt and shame lifted from you as you receive that gift. The sinful self says, "Nope, can't be this easy." Giving in to this grace means satan is fully defeated and he can't have that.

Why not dictate your book on your long commute and then transcribe it to text later? Just a thought.

You said Peck Spiritualism, do we show respect for our Heavenly Father? How meny people actually come into his Rest? True Faith is not found in a wafer but in the camandments of God The Father, why do we not walk through the door Christ has opened for us? But instead pomp ourselves kissing a statuse,s feet, smearing ashes on our heads, flopping on the floor as if we're blessed, I could go on, but the Israelite's kept doing the same things. Spiritual = set yourself apart, come out of her, stand up, buy flowers

Should Lutherans practice the Seder and remember the Passover? If not, why not? If the Jews were not saved from Egypt, we'd have almost none of the history from the Old Testament nor any of the prophets. We too should celebrate their Exodus. I realize there is a separation based on anti-semitism which certain Christians feel and insist upon because of what the Pharisees and chief priests did to Jesus. The Passover is an event that should be celebrated by all believers in God, not just Jews.

We do. We just call it Easter.
@cookiequeen32912 жыл бұрын
@@txgsu43 Easter is not Passover. They occur at the same time during the year, but our 32-year-old Messiah did not come onto the "scene" until 400 after the Jews were "let go" from Egypt. So how can they be the same celebration? They coincide but they are different Holy-days. I am saying we should celebrate and observe both. But we don't. And I wonder why. Easter is not just another way of saying Passover.

Jesus IS our Passover. Just as there is no temple because believers are the temple; no priests, because Christ is the High Priest; and no sacrifices because Christ is our sacrifice; all the types and shadows are fulfilled in him.
