Absolutely the BEST instructional video for those that are trying to get up on foil with a wing. "Sloshing Upwind" eliminates Aquatic 'walks of shame'. Pelvic position does make a difference. Thank you!

Fantastic video. Starting winging 3 months ago and can now up upwind and downwind, still cannot turn. But will get there some time. Looking forward to each day on the water. The best anti-virus and depression medicine on the market!

Thanks, excellent pointers and I really appreciate your detailed , scripted approach. I'm getting good sessions now, staying upwind, lowering my bottom end range from 16 knots to maybe 12 - 13knots, just working on trying to muscle memory the gybes, which I'm finding still to be quite a bit different than kite hydrofoiling. watching the hand switch segments with Drunk Kyle at 25% playback speed is therapeutic.

Looking forward to video #3 in this series. Went winging tonight and going tomorrow also. Hoping to successfully do a jibe on foil, without touching down. Originally I was placing my foil all the way forward in the track boxes. But I find on my smaller 6'4 board that I get more drag and it's harder to pump and get up in low wind. Tomorrow I'll try moving the foil back, like when I surf or tow and see if the drag decreases and flying becomes easier. Wish me luck. About 6 weeks of experience 2-3 times a week. Comfortable flying healside both directions and struggling with flying toeside, so I'm doing the kite foot switch before I turn. Also in my low wind conditions 8-11mph, I'm using a 9m Gong to get on foil. The 4m Naish wasn't big enough and our central Ca wind isn't usually that strong.

@@TheOKKiteboarder No COVID-19 Restrictions at my house. Great afternoon Seabreeze from the SW. Campground (Avalon Landing) is less that a mile from our home. If you are passing through on I-10, you and you family is always welcome. Beach or dock launch in the backyard. Sandy bottom with very gradual slope. Excellent instructional video with well thought out mechanics of motion. I would expect nothing less from a PT.

As a surfer who transitioned to prone foil surfing and adding winging, I haven’t touched my shortboard in ages. Unless it’s overhead and barrels, I’m foiling!

Great video! Do you guys water start both directions or only water start your comfortable surf stance direction heelside or toeside ? If you water start toe-side do you then switch your feet once up on foil?

We Waterstart both direction. Occasionally start Toeside but not regularly.

Thanks for the superb video!! Question: Your opinion on beginners (intermediate Kiter but never hydrofoiled) Wing-Foiling on an inflatable board instead of fiberglass? I see that you were riding an F-one Rocket board. F-one also has Rocket Air series which has inflatable boards. So I'm thinking getting a 140L Rocket Air board. I know you own and ride Gong Hipe inflatable, but that I think was after you have considerable Hydrofoiling experience.
@TheOKKiteboarder3 жыл бұрын
Well an inflatable is much friendlier for falls no doubt. The inflatables will be a little more sticky but will work just fine in significant enough winds. There will be some other inflatable boards coming out this fall, just join my Facebook group and I’ll keep those items updated for you.
@raghuram28153 жыл бұрын
@@TheOKKiteboarder thanks, I'm in your FB group now. Hoping to hear the news about more inflatables soon. The SUP world was taken by storm with inflatables so I'm guessing same will happen in Wing world too.

Great video, thank you. I have decent foil experience with a 5ft efoil but handling my 100L board is like Taming a beast. Did you find it helpful to first use the board behind a ski boat or is the line of pull from the boat just too different from the wing to equate when learning?
@TheOKKiteboarder4 жыл бұрын
I have quite a bit of kite foiling experience so that was an easier transition, but I would definitely recommend behind a boat if you don’t feel comfortable on a non motorized hydrofoil/board setup.

You will never see a Video of a "Wing-Mare" I find the wing SO much more relaxing and many more opportunities to launch from that would be impossible with a Kite.
