This is not done how it was. Marilyn was 44 and the boy was 15 when they started out. Just think if it was young girl with old man. I saw interview done of Marilyn who was then 52, William was 22, you can clearly see he is little slow in the head, not like the William in this movie very clever and articulate.

This has got to be someone who knows us hiding behind a faceless profile. There is an article that stated I was 15 which was clearly untrue. I met her at 16. However, that's the British media for you printing lies on repeat. The point of this film was to set the record straight and tell our truth. To correct all the lies that were spread about us. This video just turned up in my feed to remind me of the age gap love story I experienced 14 years ago, 19 years difference. I was 47 when we met and had recently walked out of a bad marriage where I was not respected and valued . For many years he tried to deny it but always came back to me until I asked him to leave me alone because I knew he wanted children and I was too old for that. His family, his religion and culture all made it impossible for him but I know we had an incredibly bond which can only be explained if one believes in destiny and past lives. Love transcends the social rules of the human world.Even though we did not stay together and he went on to get married and have children, I am grateful he showed me I could be loved unconditionally. His love put me on a path of greater self-esteem and self-confidence. After I set him free I achieved a lot professionally and saw the world, on my own. Thank you for telling your story.You were both veey strong and it can inspire other people who are struggling to accept their love. 🙏

Thank you sharing your own story, Natalie! I too lived a similar story to yours. I always say: "That was the closest I came to LOVE. He was 18 years younger. I had been divorced for over ten years when we met and I had two grown up sons. They accepted him but at 52 I could not have children anymore. So, after almost 6 years of back and forth, he made the decision to go back to his native country. He got married and had two sons. This movie and your story filled my heart with happiness and nostalgia. It is magic to live such relationships.

Why would any woman put up with a husband like hers? Threaten me for wanting a divorce and I might start considering other options, most of which would be far less pleasant. And as for there being age limits on who you can have as your friends, I've always had friends of all ages, some older, some younger even by decades. Age hasn't got much to do with making human connections.

Yes I fully agree with you. But interestingly my point of “contention” with this relationship is not so much the age gap.but their falling for each other while she was still married, and him being her sons friend. Sure her husband was an abusive jerk but is still wrong to string a young dude along while being in a complicated relationship. She should have focused more on leaving the man and maintaining her health instead and learnt to get on her own two feet first. It would have been different had she been just a single older woman who fell for a younger dude.

When you are vulnerable unfortunately these things happen , when you are being abused especially, you are not in your right mind at all, you don't think straight and on top of it you have chronic disease. Sadly, the double.standard still exists, such that if the younger person -- the 18-22 year old (as William was during the struggling to be together years)-- were a female & the older person was a guy (20-30 years older) it would be ok & the guy would even be congratulated & admired & glorified. Look at Trump & his younger women ... Not just Melania-- as she's not the 1st to be young enough to be his daughter.
