@garyeltheimmortal3313 жыл бұрын
Literally a boss. He started a rebellion alone, without even needing to notify other mages. You can see there how much Demacians tortured them- they turned mages into the monsters legends told they were. Although people brag about how Sylas is a killer (Sylas killed a thousand people Demacians killed literal millions, generation by generation) I still stand with Sylas, because Demacians are hypocrite. They defend the mages who are from noble class, but kill/exile/imprison the poor, no matter if they're babies, they torture them with petricite potions saying it 'holds back' their powers. At least Sylas directly claims what he wants.

Sylas summarized lore plus TL;DR at the bottom Sylas, as a child was quickly able to learn that he has the ability to see magic, in people that aren't even using it. His parents being "true Demacians" urged Sylas to turn himself in to the mageseekers, so he did, since he thought it was the best thing to do, so they decided to let Sylas join them. Sylas did what he was told and did his job, until he started to see that the nobles and the rich who were publicly against magic had magic in them, so he told the mageseekers about it and they told him not to tell anyone and to not worry about it. This was the second thing showing Sylas that Demacia was wrong, the first being Sylas helping them as a mage, taking in innocent mages that haven't done anything wrong. One day, Sylas found a little girl who was the most powerful mage he had ever seen, using the power of pure lightning itself, he was with his fellow mageseekers so he couldn't just decide to ignore it, so he defended her telling them that it was wrong to take her away. While Sylas was defending her, he accidentally brushed up against her, and the power of her lightning powers burst through his fingers, and killed everyone in the surrounding area, even the little girl. Sylas, after realizing what he had done, and now seeing the truth, he went into hiding, so he wouldn't be taken away. Eventually, they caught Sylas now calling him Sylas of Dregbourne, after the city he was born in, (Dregbourne isn't on the map for some reason) and called him the most dangerous mage in the land, although all he did, he did by accident. Years later, (15-30) Sylas met a young mage girl who used the power of light, and as you could have guessed, this was Lux. Lux took an interest in Sylas, since he was a powerful mage and he had experience, so he might know how to bury her magic. Soon, Sylas taught her that she couldn't bury who she was, she had to embrace it. So she did, and eventually Sylas asked for something in return. The blueprints to Galio, is all he asked for to know the power of petricite, the stone that bound him at the time. Sylas learned from the blueprints that petricite didn't dull magic, it absorbed it, but before Lux could come back, to return the blueprints, she had been caught, and Sylas was to be executed. Before Sylas could be executed however, in an ironic situation, Lux defended him and she eventually brushed up against him, so he absorbed the power of her light, and he "lit a fire" by that I mean that he killed everyone in the surrounding area, besides Lux and Garen if he was there. After this the lore ends, but the Lux comic shows us what happened after the lore. Sylas tried to assassinate the king with his newfound rebellion, after breaking into the mage prison and freeing them only to find out that the king was already dead. They almost executed Jarvan IV, to end the Jarvan bloodline, but were interrupted by Garen's charge, and his soldiers, so they retreated to build up the rebellion for an invasion one day. *TL;DR:* Sylas realizes he can see magic so he's recruited into the mageseekers. He found powerful little mage girl one day so he defended her accidentally killing everyone in the area. gets arrested and meets Lux years later. Petricite doesn't dull magic it absorbs it. he breaks free and makes a rebellion. Sylas is about to assassinate Jarvan III only to find out he's dead so he tries to execute Jarvan IV but is interrupted by Garen's charge and soldiers. Retreats leaving Jarvan IV alive preparing for an invasion one day. sorry this one was so long I didn't mean it to be this long but there's a lot of information including the Lux comic recently so there was a lot to go over. Actual lore below and the Lux lore in case you're interested Sylas: universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/champion/sylas/ Lux: universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/champion/lux/

@@nf3633 depends on the way you see Sylas, because to the Demacians he's a villain, and to his rebellion he's a hero. So if you're on Sylas' side and think mages should be welcomed into Demacia, you'll probably see him as a protagonist. If you're on Demacia's side and think that all magic should be outlawed because of the horrors of the Rune Wars, then you'll probably see him as an antagonist.

The Thing is his magic is to steal the Power/Magic from others. So quite humour that he is the Leader of the Magic Uprising.
@Kronosfobi4 жыл бұрын
@@HandsomeGamerGuy Its not his power though. His power is sensing magic. He invented ''stealing'' through the only thingg they used to absorb his powers in the first place. Its like creating weapons out of your handcuffs.

I like the fact that this guy got 15 years in prison, chained at all times, and turned out ripped as fuck.

You should make a Sion quote video, I think it would be cool because most of his quotes are hardcore but some are self reflective and confused. I think with the right music you could make an excellent video.

Sounds like he’ll get along with Xerath, if it wasn’t for the whole “we had to make him evil all along” thing

I mean, you might wanna read his lore. He is somewhat justified but he is still pretty much evil without a doubt.

Sylas rebellion is necessary for Demacia to ever move forward, right now they're rotting on their own.
@gervoh5 жыл бұрын
The main problem I see with his rebelion is that it's pure anarchy and he doesn't think ahead. He's not the best candidate for a leader of a new government and a certain level of control is needed.
@dl55515 жыл бұрын
@@gervoh Not gonna debate anarchy here nor do I think Sylas should be the leader. However a cataylst is always necessary and he's perfect for that.
@sopmodii15055 жыл бұрын
@@gervoh He is so poetic and knows how to rile people up for a cause. It doesn't matter if you don't think anarchy will work, he is a leader for the mages and he is doing god's work by bringing true justice to Demacia.
@gervoh5 жыл бұрын
@@sopmodii1505 Hard to call it justice, some of his quotes suggest that he also wants mages to be superior. He's a really well written character, he fights for a cause but is also flawed and this is why I like him.
@sopmodii15055 жыл бұрын
@@gervoh can I get an example for the quotes that imply mages are superior to humans? (Even though that's the truth since they are basically born with an extra ability) All I heard from Sylas was "A CROWN FOR EVERYONE!" or "Every Demacian a King!"

I'm sure after the end of arcane, lol will come up with the idea. Arcane:Revolution. Where you get sylas, swain, lux, garen and more chars. I would be damned if I don't get that.

Totally feeling he would fit in the mage rebellion in the lore of Dragon Age. Hell, if he could have crossed dimensions, he'd have taken out the Seekers singlehanded then marched on Orlais and toppled Ferelden. "Inquisition? Bah! I have the only Holy Crusade that matters! Take down the kingdoms or watch us tear down the Order you hold dear, then pray to your failed Andraste before your blood stains my streets!"
