McDaniels has been successful for years as an OC. He helped groom the greatest QB of all time, Coached for the greatest Coach of all time, has SB rings & understands what it takes to win. I’d take McDaniels in a heartbeat as OC. Plus, there is little chance of him getting poached away for another HC job

I like Vrabel but not sure about McDaniels. McDaniels only seems to have suceeded with Brady and it could be argued that Brady was really the OC with his audibles. Caleb is ready to make similar audibles yet.

It's exciting to think of bringing in a successful head coach, but are we really sure that coaching alone is the Bears' problem? I remember being excited when the Bears brought in Mike Martz -- considered an offensive genius -- as OC. Preseason talk was abuzz with advanced offensive schemes. The in-season result? A 28th-ranked passing offense. And what about John Fox? Super Bowl in Carolina, super bust in Chicago. Bottom line, I think this team has deep-seated institutional issues going back decades, and it's going to take more than just a great coach to fix them.

My concern with McDaniels is that he's never succeeded without him like so many of Belichick's coaches. Bill had a heavy hand in the offense while at the Patriots. McDaniels does have a tremendous amount of experience, but that is a concern of mine.

I prefer Ben Johnson as the better pick for HC, or if not, then entice him away for OC. We need an offensive-minded HC and with Washington now calling plays as DC we can see how he does over the last 3 weeks or if we need to replace him. No, we haven't gotten as much from the D as I expected, but that was under Eberflu's direct interference.

I don't think Mike Vrabel is a good fit for the Bears. His offenses were very run heavily. Our current offense with Williams is very pass friendly. Also his defenses if I'm not mistaken leaned heavily on having a 3 tech defensive tackle which we would have to draft. I love the idea of having Josh McDaniels as an offensive coordinator. Let him focus on developing Caleb Williams and he can bring the winning mentality we are lacking. If the Bears hire an offensive minded head coach like Ben Johnson or Joe Brady then McDaniels main focus can be on the development of Caleb Williams.

Reese has zero experience calling plays at the NFL level, and how much of McDaniel at New England was McDaniel or was it the fact that he had one of the greatest HC of all time? I have no problem with Mike Vrabel being our HC as long as he brings another proven OC, just my opinion. Me personally I just don’t want Josh McDaniels or the other guy whose in Alabama. Anybody else who is proven with a great network of coaches “Yeah Sure” just not McDaniels. He just rubs me the wrong way. And I don’t want that for our football team. We’ve had enough disappointment and downfalls the past three decades.
