Dan. is there a right way(or right sequence) to cut? If you're cutting let's say 4 up on 13x19 cut sheet, there are 8 total cuts(4 slits & 4 cuts). I usually do all the cuts first then slits. Does it matter? I'm trying to see if there are more efficient way of cutting paper. It's 8 cuts no matter how you cut, so I don't think it matters.. but I thought I ask the expert. :)

Slowing the machine down may possibly match the imaging speed with the fuser. I'd sometimes get that inboard to outboard issue because the sheet would exit the imaging path at a higher speed than the fuser causing the sheet to buckle.

Looks like you could improve your image transfer (aka second bias transfer voltage adjustment). Don't you have that per stock on your KM?
@justaprinter

I'm not sure. I have not made this adjustment before.
@lesptitsoiseaux
@lesptitsoiseaux 3 жыл бұрын
@@justaprinter On the Versant (xerox) its quite easy I think its likely in yours as well, somewhere. It really helps bring the correct amount of toner on paper. Think of it this way: plastic powder + metal powder (toner and developer) get mixed and through this second bias transfer the toner gets down on the sheet. If your media is dry or denser or not dense enough then you might get more mottle than you should. This controls, so to speak, the power of that magnet that brings down the toner on the sheet and if you tweak it right you'll be usually pleasantly surprised. Do you have a KM color analyst assigned to you? (I'm a xerox colour analyst love to learn about what the other guys do too :-)

Hi - Seems like all of your equipment are pricey. What would you suggest for a beginner like on the equipment investment. Are you designing by yourself or just print shop printing what customer sends the design file. The reason is I am doing a small scale t shirt printing, but most of them are asking whether I do booklet printing / binding etc. People think that when I say I am doing t-shirt printing, they think that I am capable of doing all sort of printing :)
@justaprinter
@justaprinter 4 жыл бұрын
Thats a good problem to have! Just about any digital press with booklet finisher will do. Why don't you start by outsourcing the printing to an online trade printer. Then build up your customer base.

@@thomasmaxey7600 We got a 7210X and a 7200 last year and while they are only rated for 400GSM, the salesman was showing us that he had print samples run on heavier stock. We didn't have high hopes, but with fingers crossed, tried running 24pt C1S that was around 450gsm if memory serves. Ran it like a champ, just make sure you have the grain going the right direction. We have the vacuum belt feeders. We have a Versant 2100 that we had tried to run it on, but the fuser gap wasn't wide enough. We have also run 20pt plastic on several occasions for name tags and playing cards.

@07:50 I'm disappointed in you sir. I was expecting you to do some high level physics stuff and figure out how much film was left for the books by doing something with the diameter, minus the core size, raised to the power of the film width or some other stuff I don't know what I'm talking about. lol. I bet you could if you put your mind to it. Fun fact, my aunt that had worked at Moore's used to go in during inventory audit and they had these glasses or binoculars and would view the rolls of paper and somehow be able to guesstimate how much paper was left on the cores.
