Bought some Klipsch floorstanders and as I was loading them up the lady said she had an old receiver and turntable (and a technics CD player) that she'd give me for $20 more. Was definitely happy when I looked at it and discovered it was a perfectly functioning Sansui G-7700 with not a scratch on it. The turntable is a working (and beautifully sounding) Sansui XR-Q9. Best $20 I've ever spent!

Oh this is soooo nice!👍 I bought a new Yamaha CR-620, ran it HARD almost continuously for 4 years (college). Sold it to a Frat boy freshman and he did the same 4 years again. Got it BACK (with original JVC Studio turntable) 10 years later. Still cooking. Only service ever required? New bulb in the slide-rule tuner! Great equipment is worth the investment. Then and… NOW.

I was stationed in Japan in the AirForce in 1974 and 1975 and boy what a time. The yen was 400 to the dollar and audio equipment was dirt cheap. I had a Pioneer SX 1010, Teac top load cassette, Teac Reel to Reel , Technics direct drive turntable and other stuff. I didn't know to keep it, what a dummy! It literally was the years that Japan dominated the audio equipment market with their top of the line products.

Lived just outside of Ft. Bragg most my life and all the GI’s would purchase this wonderful stereo equipment overseas and ship it home. The best of times for home music. Bose sounds great but this was so much cooler. Never forget when “The Who” came out with “Quadrophenia”. Needed 4 speakers to have a proper listening experience. Those were the days.

I was SO jealous of anybody in the early 70s who had a killer sound system. First I had a cheap plastic GE record player. Then I used my paper route earnings and bought one of those suitcase type stereos. It opens up and the turn table comes down and the speakers turn outward. I didn't have the stereo of my dreams until 1977 when I was 19. My parents were flabbergasted when I told them I spent over $800 for an all Pioneer sound system. I didn't have it on for five minutes when my neighbor started pounding on the wall. 😎👍

Purchased a Marantz 2330BD, a Kenwood turntable, and a pair of Bose 501's back around 1979 while in the Coast Guard. Still have them today, however the receiver does need some work...developed a 60 cycle hum in one channel, and most likely needs a re-cap and cleaning. I also replaced the woofers in the speakers. Does your business do "rebuilds" for customers?

We loved all those shiny knobs, the heavier they were the more they cost. Until, they got older and all those filter capacitors leaked and them cheap transistors and diodes leaked too. Now, fixing one costs hundreds IF you can get parts and know what to do. And, know what not todo!😊

Today's quality equipment sounds 100 times better than any of that, easily! I'm referring to hi end. I'm sure even mid priced kit can beat that stuff. It's mostly kit that has very little refinement in sonics. It was ok for its day. But I am absolutely sure the pricier kit of today will make all that kit sound flat and dull. It will be black and white difference. Nostalgia is nice though!

Stationed in Germany in the USAF from '68-'71 or so. Had two Elac Miracord turntables and a Teac 4010s reel to reel running through my baby...a Pioneer SX9000 Receiver to two huge pairs of Sansui 3 ways with a Cassette deck (I forget the make) for good measure. Even had an 8 Track RECORDER! Sold all of it back here in the States when money problems cropped their ugly heads up. Had loads of other stereo gear at various times in the service, but the ones I mentioned were the last to go. Wish I'd been smarter about money so I could still have that gorgeous sounding gear. Sigh. If I ever wandered into your store, you'd probably need dynamite to get me out again! LOL! I even, at one point, had a reel to reel with 4! reels! Miracord, dubbing deck I think, for copying reel tapes.

Hi guy's. Love your store especially the love of the vintage gear. I have a Marantz Model 250m as my daily power amp that replaced my model 15 which developed some faults in a channel and on investigation requires a lot of love and $$'s to fix. My question for you guys is have you had any Marantz Model 15s come through your store and if so what's your thoughts.. Of the 50 or so receivers and separates I've owned nothing sounded as good as it running my B&W's. Cheers Luke

I have some wonders from Sansui, receiver- G301, deck -SC 3300, both connected to a pair of SP-X7500 speakers. You don't want to know how I can still, after almost 50 years, make my neighbors cry. It works perfectly, with an enviable sound and I haven't even changed their bulbs. I'm glad that all the broken Sansui devices were sold only in your area.

first and foremost let me say you have an incredible list of electronic equipment, both sound and video, and an exceptional line of great products that I believe are still relevant for the household and a way to break from the cellphones and procure music through the use of smartphones to download. I believe in the use of software like Winamp and the newer Linux base Linamp to run on a PC or LnxPC and or Mac to connect to these amps and equalizers to enhance sounds to 350 or 555 watts while using these beautifully stylized amps and speakers etc. to beautify while improving the home. If you have an email or website plz notify and I'll get back to you.. THank YOu .

The youngsters today have streaming and mobile phones and so on but the sound that they think is good has little on what these amazing products produced in the day. I appreciate some streaming is high end quality but look at what they miss out on. These items were not just hardware to play your music but pieces of art to be cherished and admired. In todays throw away society this is not understood, mores the pity.
