I have had locs for 14 years and I love love them!!! Yes you go through changes but so does your hair when it’s natural. My hair has been able to grow and it’s very healthy. It’s amazing if you have a an active lifestyle. 10/10

Just Audria Just take it a day at time! I have had long hair , red hair and now it’s short and recovering from the bleach 😬. I’ve had my locs since I was 8 and now I’m 22. I have gone through the phase of wanting to cut them off, wanting extensions, wanting to wear my natural hair etc but at the end of the day I feel like my hair has helped me with my confidence and my desire to be unapologetically black ✊🏾

I've wanted to loc my natural 4b/c hair for over 3 years now. I have hesitated for several reasons most of which you mentioned in this video. I watched a bunch of your videos before I got my interlocks established in March 2020. Now that I’ve had them for a few months I have to agree with everything on your list. It took me about a month to decide on locing my hair, all together i love my locs, but I think because of my cosmetology background i can play with different styles which i am greatful for. Like you mentioned I am one of those i want to switch up my hair people. But thank goodness Im pushing through and I am 6 months locs today!

If you use essential oils and oils in your water this will help with the problems of dryness and dullness and be consistant. Also covering ur hair at night is very important. But I agree with your reasons. You must learn to love your hair. In my 3 yr journey I have had to learn what's good for my hair and what it takes to make my hair look and feel good for me. Each person's hair is different learning is what's best for your hair is key.

All the reasons you listed applied to me and I still got locs. I got locs for spiritual reasons so I have to always consider that. I got locs for the journey not the look. Although my hair is beautiful healthy ombré micro locs, this video is helpful to someone.

Have you ever tried that apple cider vinegar and baking soda rinse? I have neve heard dry scalp attributed to locks. I need to talk to a real Jamaican rasta, seriously!

I relate with having 0 shine. My loose natural hair was ashy to begin with and my locs are the same. It took so many oils to get any level of shine and now that I'm pretty much product free outside of rose water, I've come to terms with no shine, but I don't feel like it looks dull. It's nearly 5 months in and I'm still very happy I have locs.

My friend has 30 inches and hers has no shine. It’s so healthy and vibrant though. Mines is shiny on camera. Not so much in person.
