What I love about this Roast is that no one can think of one mean thing to say about Jimmy. Others get mocked for their 20 marriages, politics, drinking, or bad attitude, but not Jimmy Stewart. A class act.

Moreover, by Don's very "faux-racist" remarks he was making ANTI-racist statements, in much the same way that viewers of ALL IN THE FAMILY could laugh at Archie Bunker and his racist ignorance and receive the very message that the show was making (by way of Archie's off-putting behavior) about how stupid it really is to judge anyone by the color of their skin.

Both this one and the Klugman roast by Don are obviously pre-recorded. They never show him with anyone else in the same frame and it was said he did this quite often. They just reused the intro and dais shots from other episodes.
