Introducing our oldest build: the Ferrari 288 GTO. Created over 20 years, using 5 different Ferraris, with the help of some of the greatest fabricators and the extended Just Driven family. Starting life as a poster on Daryl's wall and now beautifully poised amongst our other detailed builds. Listen to the story of this iconic machine from start to current status.

FINALLY!!! What a story, what a build, what a magnificent car. Frankly, this just about exactly the way I would do it if I were to do it. A car that is more than a clone, more than a homage; it’s more like a reimagined legend. An original 288 is so rare, so exclusive, besides the ego boost knowing you own a real one, you could never parallel the experience of your recreation and the feel of driving a true 1 of 1. Bravo!

The 288GTO is one of my favorite Ferraris of all time. Besides the F40 F50, Enzo, and Laferrari this is one of the top you would have to have in your collection.

Apologies for the delayed reply. I had some family stuff to deal with and forgot to respond. I found the story behind the build really engaging. The detail was great and gave a good appreciation of the process involved. Seems like a high quality build, not always true of youtube cars. I am glad this model and vintage of Ferrari is most likely a California car. If you watch Tyrrell's Classic Workshop at all, you will see the serious structural rust these Italian cars are prone to in wet climates. He recently restored a 308 with the fibreglass body. The frame however, was on the verge of collapse from hidden rust. This looks like another great Just Driven project car!

Man, what to say or start with first!!! I had the same idea! The 288 is getting way to valuable to source, old tech, & laggy. A 308 is worse, but the look of them both....Gowd!! 5 Ferraris? seriously? The Modena I get for drive-train, but took it a step further with the suspension? Damn. If I ever get the time & money to this, you guys are going to save me both. I'll then use the extra funds on lighter materials! Carbon for the molds, aluminum for the back chassis/suspension, & some Ti for fasteners & small parts! Paint looks killer, BTW. The wheels however look off with the pentagon in the center. Gotta go play the lottery. LOL Awesome build fellas.

My dream car would be to restomod a Ferrari 308 with an extended wheelbase by 300mm between the door and front tires, so that you can sit straight while driving! Preferably a 1978 version, with sequential fuel injection and coil on plug ignition.

I love this build. I was just out of high school when this came out and also had a poster of it on my wall. This build reminds me of Bob Norwood’s 288 GTO replica. I believe it was the first. Hell, I think he built it when Ferrari was still producing them. I wanted that replica just as bad as a real one, maybe more. Same story with yours. It’s just as desirable as a real one. I actually like the look of the JNC wheels on the car. More lip looks so good. Amazing fab work. Can’t say enough about this build.

You should have rebuilt it to its original state and painted it in yellow. Ferrari collector David Lee is searching for a 288GTO yellow for his ketchup-mustard great 5 collection. You'd probably made a lot of money.

In my humble opinion, the wheels are too big.17 in max, They take from the beauty and finesse of the body. A supermodel with big feet doesn't turn me on. Everything else 100%
