I still remember when they first announced the Excursion. It was such a controversial vehicle back then. But now, it doesn't seem as big of a deal as it once did. The build is coming along nicely!

Funny I remember when they first came out and people really hated it along with the H2…and now the excursions are sought after
@tinystar3010Ай бұрын
Yup. Very controversial. I believe at that time, at 19 foot long I believe?, the Excursion was the longest vehicle in current production making it cumbersome in daily driving, parking lots etc., and gas mileage was horrendous, and statistic everyone was against.
@tinystar3010Ай бұрын
Yeah just Googled to fact check, 18 foot and just over 10 inches
@bprint555Ай бұрын
@@tinystar3010 I remember a comedian referring it to as “earth F**ker” lol

Thanks! With most SUVs growing in size the Excursion isn't as big...even though it's still ridiculous and made more ridiculous with the lift.

That this is sick! My dream Excursion is a 2001 with the 7.3 turbo diesel in a nice hunter or pine green with a tan interior on this dude’s setup meaning no chrome either. Only I want a Liquid Springs suspension

Thanks so much! The Ex looks and sounds so mean!

Awesome video, i gotta say, it's impressive to see that your KZbin channel has gone through a lot of change from when you first started. Who knows, maybe this video could get more views and so many likes as well. Keep up the work you guys put in.
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
Thank you so much! We don't always feel like our channel has changed much, until we go back and watch an earlier video. We are still doing what we love and hope that will always show through in our videos.

@JustDriven you're welcome. Oh and i forgot to ask you something.

Absolutely love the build! Thank you for sharing the build progress. I wanna build the same thing pending my better half’s approval lol.

Better to ask for forgiveness or something like that.

Great looking EX. Nicely done. Does the vented hood help quite a bit with keeping the engine bay cooler? My 7.3 engine bay gets really hot and I’m looking to extend the life of the wiring and components. Can you provide some options for me? Thanks.
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
Alex didn't perform any before and after data with the hood. He did mention he sees heat exiting through the vents in the hood. If you'd like to check out options from AmeriHood we would be happy to help you with an order.

4:05 is there a way you can make a shielded bracelet to run down close the down next to the springs?
@JustDriven6 күн бұрын
Alex is just going to re-route the lines instead of adding fab work.

Hey man, awesome video, I have 05, I want to do a lift kit on mine. I don't go off-road but I plan to add 24 inch wheels and tires, I would like to know if you have a parts list and if possible can you send it to me?
@JustDriven21 күн бұрын
We only really deal with off-road applications. The parts used were all selected with those characteristics in mind. We wouldn't know what you'd need for a street truck.

Sweet rig! Do you think doing the axles swap is a must upgrade for the Ex? Looking forward for your next video installment!
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
If you want more articulation and bigger brakes then yeah upgrade the axles. Alex just did it because it was simpler to reach his end goal of an ultimate suspension for off road and daily driving duties.

What size lift is on it ? I just purchased an 01 Excursion. Supposed to be a 6 inch lift. What do i measure to know IF really 6 inch lift?
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
It's a 5 inch in the front and 4.5 in the rear. You measure from the center of the wheel hub straight up to the fender, taking measurements at all four corners of the vehicle before and after the lift is installed.

Drivers ou should always be thinking as far in advance as possible. Especially if you are driving a tank like this.
@JustDriven27 күн бұрын
It's a lot of weight to slow down and never does on a dime. So yah, driving with full attention is how EVERYONE should drive, but Alex has to pay a little more attention for those drivers who refuse to.
@Sdukes001Ай бұрын
Why not go with Carli in the front if you did in the rear?
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
Alex was thinking he would ultimately want more adjustment with the suspension for different situations. He was wrong. It took so long to tune it all for a "do all" type of travel. After going this route, even though the PMF setup can do ANYTHING he could ever think of, for ease of use he would have rather just done all Carli.

I don't see the Power Step XL available for Excursion on their page. which one you used?
@JustDrivenАй бұрын
AMP Research Power Step XL AMP Part Number 77104-01A

We listed the part number but KZbin may be blocking the reply. Make sure to check your "held for review" comments or replies if you don't see it.

They do. If you're ready to purchase email us at info at just driven and we can put together a quote based on your needs/wants.
