Ferry THEOFILOS in Gulf of Elefsina (a subsidiary of Altana Navigation Ltd.)

Theofilos was beached this week at Aliaga, Turkey for scrapping after years of lay-up. Good looking ship when in it’s prime.

Built 44 years ago as NILS HOLGERSSON... later served the Australian route to Tasmania as ABEL TASMAN for ten years before being acquired by Ventouris Ferries and relocating to Greece. The next stop must surely be to the scrapyard - the Greek government wants rid of these ships despoiling the beauty of Greece's maritime environment with the risk of pollution. Great video, though! So sad! When I was young, I lived in Travemünde, Germany, and this wonderful ferry cruised from Travemünde to Trelleborg, Sweden. So often we were on bord and had so much fun. Thank you, old lady!

It was cameramans mistake to take so few scenes from the side decks. Generaly from all spaces with chairs and tables, the spaces were the people have many and strong memories. Nevertheless a big thanks to the guy who create this video. Thank you very much for the freezing of time.

Sehr schöne Aufnahmen sehr traurig aber was mit dem Schiff ist. Ich habe dabei aber noch eine Frage und zwar: ich sehe immer diese "Ringe" auf den Brückenfenstern weisst du welchen nutzen sie haben? Wenn ich du sagen darf

Die runden Glasscheiben rotieren schnell,und sind dadurch immer frei von Regen und Spriztwasser.
