Seeing how ruined our heroes were at the end of the film made me realize that there was no better possible outcome. We started with Flashpoint and we ended with it. It was a nice run 😪

They all have this strong feeling of nerdy fun crafted by people that care alot about these characters and their stories. And it ended with such a resonating and well earned note of hope. I dont care for comics and superhero movies, but i binged this small film franchise out of boredom and i feel like i'd definitely do it again, because it was way more enjoyable than i expected.

I personally thought this was truly great. Sure, it’s unnecessarily violent at times but it doesn’t distract from the story. I love how character driven it is, with the heart of the narrative being Damian and raven. Their story is beautiful and there are parts that I actually cry over. I’m happy they became an idem but sad because it’s gone from the flashpoint.

I doubt they will, but this is a phenomenal chance for them to go full-creative and shake things up. Do a follow up movie to Flash's "time boom" as Reverse Flash called it and show everyone what's changed. Then stick with it. Don't just do it for one movie, make a series out of it. Start every single hero and villain out from scratch. Make some heroes villains and vice versa. I think it would be really interesting.

To all that don’t know her please go and read The Question by Dennis O’Neil. THAT is Sandra Woosan. Not that bs in this movie. Young Justice has done Shiva well so far but we’ll see. This was hands down the best dc animation. Omg the story was absolutely amazing and I love how they change up the story from the comics for the better so the comic readers arent getting the same exact story twice. Red son was a great movie to. And I love the JL dark theme. Constantine is an awesome character. Just over all 5 stars. So much gore and death. They bring out so much personality in our heroes now as apposed to the old school "justice over everything" heroes. But it's just a great movie

Pros- tons of action, plenty of characters, hardcore (blood and gore), no filler, new story, good jokes and references Cons- Weak main villain, not super close to comics (if that bothers you), lore is all over the place, 4.5/5 One of the best films to come from DC since Gas Light, A great finish to a decent run of films. This is my opinion and I am not a super comic reader but I have watched almost all of the animated DC films please feel free to debate me.

@@owenhodson7921 There may not of been much to Darkseid as a character, but I argue that may actually works. Atleast in the context of the film. The guy isn't presented as a character, but a force. As soon as you see that he sees what they where doing through the eyes of Cyborg you know everyone is screwed. It's kind of a full circle considering Darkseid was the foundation of the Justice League in this series of films. But it's made apparent he learned a lot from his first encounter and scaled up his invasion force through the acqusition of Doom's Day DNA. And Honestly? Who knows how long he's even been observing them? As for Batman, I'm sure he could of done it without him, but it's more of the trophy of it. He wanted to *humiliate* those he didn't actually let die or become a mechanized monstrosity. I'd argue it would have been smarter to kill him. And while he may have fallen into the classic villian let's hero(s) live for their humiliation trope it really isn't too forced. He terminally weakend and depowered Superman as a sign to break morale, corrupted Batman that for the most part is a shell of his former self only keeping him around, maybe for his intellect but also having him destroy everything he stood by, by making him be responsible for a good part of Earth's forces death, either on screen by getting the rest of the bat family killed or off screen as if he killed most of his rouges or atleast the joker. It says a lot when their only hope or last chance is literally their equivalent of the devil to show up to contend with him.

I liked the Trigon vs Darkseid scene and Matt Ryan as Constantine is always a treasure! But the violence was so over the top that it made me uncomfortable. Seeing my favourite heroes get their limbs ripped off, faces shredded, was just scarring and so unpleasant. I get they want have Infinity War/Endgame level stakes, but those movies didn't rely on gore (the mouse wouldn't let them anyway) to make you feel emotion and that the heroes may lose. I just hope they cut it down with movies moving forward, as films like Batman Under the Hood were dark, but didn't rely on cheap gore to achieve it.

I don’t understand why everyone is criticizing this movie so much because of what it did to the heroes? 1. We saw our heroes like we’ve never seen them before (defeated) by a mastermind dictator who saw their plan since the beginning. Yes it was unexpected but definitely not a bad thing. How did you think it was going to end??? 2. Running back in time to restore the timeline IS DC’s thing how can anyone be mad at that??? They did the thing they’re famous for and set up a rebirth timeline that’s a great way to end it. I would’ve been mad if it hadn’t ended that way. Not to mention heroes will more be restored and have no memory of the events. To me it was an amazing film. Definitely top 4 in the DCAU. Trigon vs Darkseid was unexpected, epic, and the most excited moment for dc comic books fans. I might be wrong but I’m not sure they ever fought in the comics. It was a final battle to decide who is the strongest evil God or the true devil. I always thought Darkseid was badass, powerful and evil but Trigon is Satan. If Lucifer morning star didn’t exist already exist it would be Trigon. He still considered “the devil” in the main dc comic. Trigon “ So, you are one of the so-called new Gods, I’m unimpressed”. Trigon “now new God, let’s see who shall rule and who shall serve”. Trigon to Superman “Go, unless you wanna fight me for the right to destroy him”. Dude was OP as fuck. And he had the coldest lines. I also liked how he thanked Raven for giving him a new God instead of Earth. Best gift ever lol.

So... the united heroes got destroyed not because they fought an overwhelmingly powerful foe (like Thanos in another universe), they got their butts kicked because Darkseid knew that they were coming via hacked Cyborg. I really loved the movie. I always considered the new 52 was always the ultimate universe version of DC Comics. But I liked the clever combination of Rock of Ages, Trinity War, Futures End, Injustice, Ultimatum (for the gore), Earth 2 (new 52) Worlds end, DCeased, FLashpoint and Avengers Infinity War/Endgame For what its worth it was a great send off for the animated movie universe and I like that it is a nice parallel to FLashpoint.

From what I’ve heard it sounds like the next round of DC direct to video animated features are going to be standalone movies more in the vein of red sun and Gotham by gaslight.. I actually believe the ones that forced the lower budget on these direct to video features was not Warner Bros. but AT&T. This movie marks the end of this era in DC Animated movies. Much like how Flashpoint Paradox was the end point point for the original era in DC animated movies. The next movie looks to be another Superman Origin story which leads me to believe its gonna be a fresh start to everything.

@@ekechukwuuzoma8456 based on the ending, it looks to be a Rebirth inspired series. If it is Rebirth Inspired, I would prefer it to be like how this movie was. Basing very loosely on a story arc, but mostly an original storyline, but use Rebirth designs. Maybe next time around DON'T have Nightwing dislocate something every time he attempts to hero?

I honestly find it very funny and lame at the same time when people accuse DC of things that marvel has been getting cheers for, the only diff being DC does it with more depth in story and character placement and marvel does it with a packet of popcorn if you know what I mean. Lol. If DC chooses to reset by flash making a flashpoint it makes complete sense coz they have established it for such a long time and with a character that can do that and a movie where he’s done it and not some random quantum bullshit which marvel doesn’t understand in the first place. It seems that it’s in fashion to RIDICULE SOMETHING INTELLIGENT AND CELEBRATE SOMETHING LAME. Anyway good things have something that lame things don’t have and that’s longevity. Someone else will dig the earth up in the future and redefine the order it’s meant to be.

I really did not like this movie because so many characters are killed off and the ending is pretty much Barry screwing up the timeline again. Darkseid is not himself in this film where his character has been long to search for the Anti-Life Equation which will grant him the power bend reality to his will but instead in this film he’s a typical evil tyrant and what’s with the stupid Doomsday clones. The Justice League was so nerfed in this and most of them are killed off in some of the most stupidest ways.

ForJustice1324 I’m conflicted with this movie too. It feels like Flashpoint with none of the context of Barry wanting to save his mom. It feels like DC wanted extreme violence to give it high stakes. When most of the time your favorite characters get appalling death scenes. I understand it’s a darker movie but seeing certain characters get ripped apart. Looked like something I would see in an Attack on Titan episode. Not too mention how so many characters get introduced back in the film but are only as small cameos from the stand alone movie appearances. If I had to give it a number it’s a 4/10.

Lots of time the darker tone is for insecure fanboys that only like their spandex superheroes contemplating angst and gore. I miss when superheroes were symbols of hope not just gore fest. There are 15 DCAU you should watch being that they all take place within the same universe (look it up on Wiki and you'll see). Do they all directly connect ? NO just like any Marvel Movie but they all exist within the same universe and some key stuff carry over to the next film example this dude literally said you just have to watch Son of Batman and JL vs Teen Titans.. LMAOO Jesus this guy really didn't watch much of the animated movies.. This movie brings a huge call back to The Flashpoint Paradox which plays a huge important role to all of these DCAU Films. Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay makes a call back to Flashpoint Paradox, A lot of these films carry over in a subtle way so please anyone who's reading this i urge you to watch the 15 DCAU Arch Films that leads up to this (JL Dark: Apokolips War being the #15). I felt this movie was far too self indulgent. They had a chance to end their Universe with a massive cast and give everyone a chance to shine. Instead, DC wanted to make their watered down answer to Endgame and make it “hardcore”. There was no element of triumph to finish this saga off, it just leaves viewers tired and empty. No to mention that, as Joel said, the continuity was always a afterthought. They didn't planned anything, in all those movies, except trying to adapt these famous stories like death of Superman and Batman Hush in the new 52 continuity. Even Darkseid doesn't work as final boss, since he was already beat up by the league in the previous movies (and they were newbies at the time). He doesn't represent any new challenge anymore.
