The thing that you need to remember is that this story basically started the DC Universe on the path to all the hells, disasters and darkness to follow. - Batman did regain his memory at some point. That is what started turning him against the League and metahumans in general. This event is what led to him creating Brother I and the OMACs, which went on to slaughter hundreds of metas, both villain and hero. - This Crisis was also significant in that it was one of hte prme justifications that Lex Luthor-Earth 3 and Superboy-Prime used to begin the Infinite Crisis; among other things, this caused the death of Konnor Kent/Kon-El, the Superboy. - Also, the DC Universe wasn't through with Jean Loring. Not long after the Identity Crisis, she would be given the power of Eclipso; she would go on to corrupt both the Spectre (leading to the death of Magic), the end of Shazam (for a while) and the corruption of Mary Marvel into a willing servant of Darkseid. - Effects of the Identity Crisis were felt right through to the Blackest Night & Brightest Day epics, when many of the dead rose to fight the living.
@UnlimitedProduction16 жыл бұрын
David Scott one of the reasons I love the arc is because of the lasting effects it would have on the whole Universe. A big criticism I often had with event comics (Marvel had this problem more so than DC at this time) was that after everything happened everything would have a soft reboot and essentially the event didn't matter in the long run. With IC, it brought upon a new era in DC that lasted a good 6 yeasts

I loved this story along with the other darker stories DC has. It provides a different, darker, and honestly sad tone to the lives of superheroes. The ending of this one always makes me feel sad, and shows how a hero's wife could end up going down a twisted path due to fear and sadness caused by the time she wishes her husband was there instead of him being gone with the possibility of never returning home to her. In turn she ended up being locked away and drugged in an asylum bc of what she did and he is so hurt and heartbroken his mind alters and he basically goes insane by the events leading up to this left to lay in bed every night talking to a ghost from the past as if nothing happened to cope with the pain in his heart he now has.

The fact death stroke took on all those heroes no problem is kind of weird…especially a green lantern….really?? Green lantern could of easily put em in a box….that’s where I think the writers rushed some of this. They wanted a terrifying outcome and it’s all kind of rushed…but none the less a truly amazing story by DC

lol why are some people thinking this story isn't beloved by fans? It's literally one of the most iconic comics out there & just look at the LIKE to dislike ratio! 21 THOUSAND likes to a measly 303 dislikes

The twist wasn't what we expected but the story is still dope. It's different there's no big bad guy at the end and having a different story is very refreshing. Great job Benny 💯💯

this story is heartbreaking...but a question if superman wasn't the one to kill lois and the city in injustice, would he still become a dictator?
@denzellmovies8 жыл бұрын
When Lois from the pre-Flashpoint earth 2 died in Infinite Crisis, her Superman did turn into an antagonist, but he doesn't go nearly as far as Injustice's Superman
@suboopc6408 жыл бұрын
JustDenzell yeah but on that earth, even Batman supports him...so there's no one to tell Superman otherwise

He would probably still go nuts. Personally for me what Joker did was more of question of when rather than what. He took away his happiest moment and put it down as the unhappiest memory. The what still has value,don't get me wrong but this Superman from the injustice universe seems kinda destined to this. The same as in the original JL series,the Jl became the Injustice league after Flash was killed by Luthor.

I remember the first time I read this comic. It was the first from begging to end that I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put it down. One of my all time favorites.

This is by far one of my favorite League comics. It is so dark and the twist at the end is just too good and heartbreaking at the same time.

The one problem I have with this is that I don't believe for a single second that Wally West would keep Ollie's little secret. Barry might have, but Wally wouldn't. Wally would not even consider it for a moment, no matter Ollie's justifications. Batman and Superman would know what happened faster than Ollie could physically react. Ollie would be in prison within a day. Zatanna even faster, if not far worse, since she can't be held as easily. Every single one of them who went along with that would, and should, be permanently removed from the team and put wherever they can no longer make decisions for themselves or anyone else for the rest of their naturalborn lives.

I read a little bit of this story but to find out that Jean was the one who planned all of that, I was oh snap it really just got dark, this story was also a lead-up to Infinite Crisis and that story is gruesome and dark but sooo good, this was awesome Benny
