This is the final scene from the pilot of the new FX TV show Justified, starring Timothy Olyphant as Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens. The background song is Sans Soleil by Mike Snow.

Every time I watch that 3 minutes I tear up. I know exactly how he feels and what she must have put up with. I’ve not seen a series better than Justified. And I really loved Queen’s Gambit!

Winona's, "you are the angriest man I've ever known" line was priceless. In a show that has many memorable lines and great dialogue between multiple characters I feel like Raylan being informed by his ex-wife of his issues was priceless. Season 2 episode 12 "Reckoning" displayed some of Raylan's anger more than any other episodes. That speech he made to Dickie (as he was contemplating shooting him) about his aunt Helen was heartbreaking. It was one of the rare times he ever showed that side of his emotion as he recalled what she did for him as a kid.

And the beautiful thing is the white hat he always wears is how he views himself through the series: a white knight. In the finale for the show he picks up and wears the black hat of his opponent, not just as a trophy, but because he seems to be acknowledging his dark side

"I feel like Raylan being informed by his ex-wife of his issues was priceless" -- yep, exactly. This is the line that really sells the entire pilot and the series IMO. No one knows Raylan like Winona (and vice versa), so her saying that is a level of truth and transparency that Raylan will only get from her. It's such a great line and delivered to perfection by Natalie Zea.

If you notice throughout the series, Raylan has a subtle way of baiting opponents which usually ends badly. He's charming on the outside, but subconsciously has zero aversion to violence. Little comments and mannerisms give this away throughout the series.

Have you ever noticed the parallels of Raylan and Boyd Crowder? They have a hell of a lot in common.

@@JR-The_Godfather_of_HorsepowerBoyd is what raylan would have been if his aunt didn't give him the money to leave Harlan that's why raylan has such respect for him that and Boyd saved his life in the mines

most pilot episodes take time to let you meet the characters in the show, not Justified though. This is one of the best pilots I have ever seen. Great writing, great characters

The truth is easily recognized because at first it makes you angry...then you load your pistol.
