This dude is a badass. I was at a Tool concert in 2002 in Denver at the Pepsi Center, and during one of the songs, Justin's strap came off of his bass and he continued to play the entire song holding it up in mid air; he didn't miss a beat. Once the song ended he quickly put the strap back on, but wow. I watched him the entire song. Amazing. And the rest of the show was spot on. Best concert I've ever seen.

Holy HELL he looks so old in this video!!! I've seen Tool on the front row and I never would recognize him if he looked like that on stage. Bless them, they're all getting on up there now and may be dead by the time the album comes out! They actually let MJK use APC to beat them to a new album. Thanks sad :(

Les Claypool and Justin Chancellor are two of my biggest influences for picking up the bass guitar. Of course as a massive Metallica fan, it was Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted that got me interested in bass at first.

This dude is incredible. Adam & Danny of have their own unique sound but Justin. Half the reason I got into Tool was because of his baselines. They just pulled me immediately in. They’re loud, they’re attention grabbing & god damn that man can groove. First time I got my dad to listen to Tool (he’s a bass player as well), he had a “Where has this man/band been all my life?” moment.

@@fearnoevil65eh, i don’t know. He’s not going full on Claypool or something but he’s still playing in relatively odd time signatures and playing for THEIR music, if he played any more complex it would probably suffer from overplaying. Just because he doesn’t write complex lines doesn’t mean he can’t, nor does it reflect on his skill as a musician. Justin is the perfect bassist for tool.
