I'm the speed running World Record holder of Return to Zork, and I LOVE watching people play the game for the first time. I'd prolly hate it too if I hadn't had it as a kid. Just for the record, the point you got to in the 30 minutes, the fastest you can get there is 3 minutes. I think it's understated how little adventure games like this actually are, but how much they seem to be cause you wander around and sit around thinking. I love that, and I love this game.

I've only watched the first couple of minutes but this is too important to wait: JUSTIN! YOU HAVE TO DIG THE BONDING PLANT OUT WITH YOUR KNIFE! If you just pull it out it wilts, and you need it alive later! There is no other way to get one. You will have to replay half the game if you haven't done this! If you haven't found the comedy club yet you won't know this but it is true. You WILL LITERALLY HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH. Please upvote this. If I know Justin, once he hits this wall, he'll just put the game down, not replay the hours necessary to complete it.

If you eat the plant it regrows and you can hop a vulture back to the valley, but yeah it's annoying. I know this sounds made up but it's completely not.

Okay i did some research and went in game and tested it out. You CAN win still, here's what you need to do. First off, EAT the plant (eating defintely works, burning might too, but dont destroy it), get through the whispering forest with the bats from the the witch. At Canuks cabin pry off the knocker on the door and take the magnet. hold the magnet while blowing the whistle you get in the cereal box in the general store. This will allow you to go back to the vulture valley and can dig up a bonding plant.

Oh man, me and my siblings used to try to play this game back when it was new. We never even figured out how to get those tickets for the waif, but we loved that guy with the rye. It was a family joke to go say to each other, "Want some rye? COURSE ya do!" whenever we poured water or soda or koolaid for each other.

This came out as I was watching through Sean Plott's Mostly Walking run through of this game. You caught on to some stuff long before they did, and other times they got it quicker. I'm just glad you take the time to edit, because at around part 12 of their stream I was waiting for them to power through with a guide. I've learned some of these puzzles are ridiculous.

youve gotta admit though, this game has some stunning visuals, graphics , and artwork. lots of visual interest, nothing to complain about on that front. youre lucky to find a game half this pretty in all 10 officia; years of gamineg. noothing really comepares, so i t kinda says something i think, true art is a reward for patience, its jsut kind of deep in that way. some stunning visuals, noothing to complain about on that front for sure. thanks for unerarthing this beauiful game
