Say what you will about Fallon, but the fact he brought in the Roots, and keeps them as his band is perhaps the greatest gift he could ever give us. The Roots could take stuff from a junkyard, not actual instruments, and make them make music. Sorry to all the other bands out there, but The Roots are THE best late night band on tv.

While it would be nice if he was still on there, and do miss him from there, I totally understand and respect his reasoning. As far as being BEST late night band though...roots still does better I think, if only because they also work with Jimmy on several non music bits, and that they can bring up ANY tune AS a GROUP, and make it sound good. Look up Jack Black sax

My brother, who suffers from kidney failure, had a cardiac arrest 3 weeks ago and brought back to life. His memory is now significantly impaired both short term and long term and he is not doing well. I saw this video and know he always enjoyed classroom instruments on the Jimmy Fallon show. Showed this one to my brother and he was smiling and “dancing” in his hospital bed. Not just the power of music but the power of this. The best!
