@tylertran5226 жыл бұрын
Is that weird? I live in Ottawa and we meet Justin all the time. My brother and his class went to see the new star wars premiere with him a few weeks ago. I last met him at a concert/charity thing a year ago. (WEday). Every summer, hundreds of canadiens do yoga at Parliament Hill (Canadien equivalent to the White House) and I believe Justin participates too. The hill itself is open to anyone most days so technically you could do yoga there any day as long as you ask one of the guards. Also in April we have a day where weed is "legal" as long as you do it on Parliament Hill. When I say legal I mean it's technically not allowed but no one in the government cares so the guards don't stop them.
@cheekybastard77986 жыл бұрын
Is this sarcasm? I'm sorry, i'm the worst person alive at spotting sarcasm but at least I'm somewhat self aware. It just seems so absurd to me. Nobody I have ever encountered in my entire life has been within 100 meters of our chancellor ever, or at the same event or something
@cheekybastard77986 жыл бұрын
according to various news sites that can't collectively all be satire, weed day and yoga day really do exist! WOah, so what you said was serious?!
@tylertran5226 жыл бұрын
It wasn't until I was like 13 until I was made aware that this wasn't the case in every country. I see now that the nature of the White House is for security problems. I don't blame Americans either considering there's been multiple assassinations of the president but its just not the case in Canada. No prime minister was ever been assassinated so we don't see a point in heavily guarding someone who probably won't be attacked.
@cheekybastard77986 жыл бұрын
that is cool as heck!! I'm from Germany and even though it's a pretty small country with the chancellor being a pretty normal person, she seems as unapproachable as, idk, mick jagger or the pope. it's awesome to see that it's that easy to see the prime minister in public in Canada.

@Nathan S With the most honesty I can say it with, congratulations on that man! That's great to read, and I really do hope I can say the same someday. I'm trying to move to BC to start a company but since I don't have much net worth I'm hoping to be able to get a job too in the meantime. Are you still paying double taxes to both the US and Canada or is that behind you? That's likely the thing I'm most worried about.
@mikeox51864 жыл бұрын
I’m surprised how you like the cold I’ve been here for the last 20 years and still in may it’s snowing
@cameronf33434 жыл бұрын
Jackpot My entire recent ancestry is German, Nordic (particularly Scandinavian Nordic, there’s no knowledge of Icelandic or Faroese), and fragmented bits of Welsh and a few other countries, though we also believe the Welsh is a result of a Viking who settled since the first trace is right before the end of the age. Every Winter since I was a child I’d routinely go out into the snow shirtless and just jump into it to relax on it. Run around, play with our old dog who loved it as well, all kinds of things, even on days of -10c and windy. I never was discomforted by it, once even swam comfortably in a stream right beside ice chunks too. Winter’s always been my favorite season profoundly, I never liked the heat of Summer like most do, but I love the invigorating cold of it, or sight of snow making the ground crisp and how during Winter alone, the trees darken in sleep and their bark takes on a whole new array of color compared to the other seasons. I spent a lot of time looking to move to SouthCentral Alaska too, but can’t imagine that going well. Too much respect of Canada’s regard to even half-assed try at having good socialized medicare, or swift common sense toward marijuana and now guns after that massacre a few weeks ago. It’s incredible stuff, especially compared to this legislatively lazy country run on economic nostalgia and disdain of the commonly beneficial. The climate and the political lean honestly make it near-ideal to me, as someone who’s been in enough times to have a novice basis to what comes with it overall. I desire heavily to move to the Canadian Rockies region, even if it only ends up being a someday instead of a soon. I honestly hope you’re proud of it.
@cameronf33434 жыл бұрын
Nathan S That’s great to read fully as well. I’d read of there being a minimum income, but never saw a number to give a basis; and I also did not know renouncing citizenship released from taxes as well, I thought it would’ve been more arduous than that too. Thank you for all the info, honestly. Stay well man.

Mikyla, Canadian history very clearly shows that Liberal administrations have always managed the economy way better than Conservatives, and the tax thing is a myth that whiny conservatives like to pretend is real. Most recently (1993 to 2006) the Liberal administration created over $200 billion in surpluses which allowed us to pay of debt and keep taxes in check, then the Conservative administration (2006 to 2015) not only spent all that surplus almost immediately, but they racked up $200 billion in new debt, putting upward pressures on taxes. Great fiscal management! Trudeau's Liberals have short term debt mostly due to Conservative mismanagement but are already improving. And the Liberals created the entire framework for our incredibly stable banking system that saved Canada (and many businesses and many jobs) in the world-wide sub-prime mortgage crisis that destroyed some economies. And, what Mr obvious says below. Thanks Mr Obvious!

That "small peice of land" goes straight through their territories and the tar sands transported heavily pollute their waters were they get their water from and pollutes the rest of their nature. The indigenous people have had previous treaties not respected through the construction of these pipelines and their council is blackmailed and manipulated to voting for the pipeline cause of underfunded reserves. Do you honestly believe meritocracy wins when it comes to cabinet positions and pretty much any other position in politics? What Utopia do you live in?
@binaryvoid01018 жыл бұрын
A MISTAKE (and a logical fallacy) is thinking that diversity and having a meritocracy are mutually exclusive. As if you can't be a minority and not be qualified at the same time. What utter nonsense. What Karol is basically implying is that the majority of seats for high-ranking careers in predominantly White countries should be reserved for that majority and any person who is not White and male got there unfairly. You can be White and be in-charge of the lives of millions of minorities but if you switch that around, it becomes a threat based on namby-pamby PC culture.
@binaryvoid01018 жыл бұрын
Like it or not, DIVERSITY, plays an important evolutionary role in human survival. A species cannot survive without genetic diversity. This is why Trudeau believes diversity is a strength and not a weakness. It's the reason why humans are alive today. Diversity helps a species survive and adapt to a changing environment. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, by 2042, White Americans will become a new minority. It is projected that during the second half of the 21st century, Hispanic and Mixed Americans (or having tan skin) will be the majority. Since 2014, there are actually more hispanic children (under 5) than White children. I could only imagine that Canada will face similar changes. If our world is becoming more diverse, thanks to immigration and the internet (two goods things), it would only make sense to adapt.

What helps Canada is the fact that there isn't a two-party system. NDP, Liberal, and Conservative are all decently popular in Canada, enough so that gridlocks and party loyalty isn't an issue. We need that here. We need to recognize our third parties. We need more variety among our politicians political beliefs. For example, Senator Sanders may be running as a democrat, but his policies are in line with what the Green Party has been fighting for for so long. Sadly, they aren't taken seriously
