Justin Welsh is an entrepreneur, who over the last decade has helped build two $50+ million annual recurring revenue companies, with teams of 150+ people, and has raised over $300 million in venture capital. On this episode of the Modern Mastery podcast, Dan and Justin talk about how LinkedIn is not a resume site, it is the land of opportunity for creators, the best route to take as a beginner in online business, and breaking down the components of a one-man business, content strategy, and the trial and error in between

Sometimes we give out advice to other people to solve their problems not knowing that the same advice can be applied to our own problems as well. It is true that we ourselves over complicate our own problems, trying to come up with over the tip solutions. I have to remember that simple answers are available, you just have to train to be open-minded enough to see it. Love this conversation, definitely learned a lot. Thanks guys.

Like many others have already said, this was VALUE PACKED! Thanks so much for bringing this to us. I was not familiar with Justin but now I am not gonna let him fall off my radar! So many gems! Just a few of many favorite parts are: (1) You're the niche (2) Become a student of getting attention. Write. Study. Analyze. REPEAT! (3) "Service before products" was really helpful to me. (4) impulse buy pricing strategy - Like I said, SO. MANY. GEMS! Thank you both for this!

This doesn’t garner mass views because of the law of averages. A few of us were exposed to this and participated, some of us swiped & passed on participating, and the masses weren’t exposed at all because they won’t apply any of the info

Thank you. Applying this advice to a fledgling small business in retirement gives me an opportunity to check myself as to what I am doing right in building it and what path to discard. I love the fact I can fire myself and re hire myself in the same day and at no cost I get a better employee after revisiting the cause for dismissal.

I love the idea of not running ads, because I hate being advertised to myself, which means plenty of others probably feel the same. It never seems genuine and it interrupts relevant content I'm actually looking for. It's like getting leg-humped by a car salesman trying to show you his money maker when you're just trying to look around and contact someone when you're ready for more info. Good inbound marketing creates more trust by showing people the value they're getting first instead of randomly shoving potentially irrelevant content in their faces.

''Quiet frankly, your friends and family just dont understand this kind of stuff''. Huh , this is a fuel sentence, thansk for saying that, while thinking with who is to share this while also i am pushing my self to use this as a strike t start the community that 15 years ago i was hovering around to do, this made me understand more on how that one soft push can make a huuuge difference, thanks for mentioning this at the end of the podcast Dan and Thank you Justin for your time, and Yes, no sharing, no gaining. the world is noisy outside, we need to focus on the one thing to make some...thing. I feel that I am coaching myself writing this hehehehe. See you soon :)

27:20 Writing/revision process, super valuable 45:40 creator competition, but you only need 1000 true fans 46:25 seeing competition is validation, it means there’s gold there 46:46 you’re your own niche by all the various experiences that make you unique, you just gotta pair it with marketing, content creation and sales to productive yourself 47:43 product creation/problem solving for an audience is not enough, you gotta know how to grab the attention of that audience at scale so you can present your solution. People need to know who you are, why you do and why you do it. 48:50 one person businesses are mostly about marketing 54:40 Start with the audience, start with customer interviews. Only then can you start hypothesizing solutions. 54:50 start with consulting so you can create personal transformations, then scale up

Walking is 100% MEDITATION ,that's why we feel CLARITY . The trick here is to be only in the PRESENT MOMENT(with intention, at least 15min per walk) like listen to the sound of your steps or of your breathing. That's all and you can allign with your inner self who knows it all and fast. Walking is the holistic combo for growth, peace and authenticity. I love your vision Dan! Thank you so much both of you for sharing all that inner knowledge for the human of tomorow. Take care.

I'd say content is an infinite game. It's about building a life you want. If this business allows you to truly be yourself and study what you're curious about, why would you ever want to exit? Finding something you'd never want to quit is the ultimate win in life.

One way that I did it was by just simply creating a program and starting selling it using a free community. You can get people into a free Skool community and then find out what they need, create that program, and offer them a paid version of their solution that's more a-b-c 1-2-3 in order and start selling consulting in a low-ticket monthly recurring offer as well as a high-ticket more intimate offer :-) Hope that helps.
