don’t even need to watch the video, picking up a rwd, black on red 6 speed 340 this weekend I’m super hyped Edit: Plans changed and I actually picked it up on 12/8. I found the car in my desired spec only 15 minutes away here in SoCal so I got super lucky. So far I’ve put 300 miles on it and love every second of it. The car is on 513M’s, MPPSK, and Dinan coils. Coming from a manual IS300 I found it way more engaging than I thought I would. My only issue with it is the electric steering of course, but once you get past that it’s a perfect daily. Looking high and low for a 6 speed was 100% worth the effort!

Great video. As someone who has owned a few non-M cars, and also a few M cars...I would still chose the M3/M5 every time. Out of the box it is more capable, looks more aggressive, and I don't feel a sense of desire for other BMWs on the road when I am in my car. When I had my 335, I always drooled over the M3, but I don't feel this the other way around. The 335/340 is probably one of the best cars for the money and it still comes in a manual! I like your setup, hope you are well man.

I agree. the m3 g80 for example, looks wayyyy more aggressive than the regular 3 series... so if you're a show off person, the m3 looks like its double the price of the 3 series... which it sorta is. It also has 100+ hp out of the box, and is way more capable on stock internals.

3:00 the automatic gearbox is the ZF 8HP and is a insane piece of technology. There is software like xHP to greatly improve this transmission even further. It is not expensive and you can flash it by yourself. 6:30 with MHD you can tune the engine safely (very common software, lots of experence) by flashing the software and the MHD OBD2 Adapter is capable of flashing the xHP software to the transmission as well! BTW: I don't own a BMW with B58 and ZF 8HP yet, but I plan to buy one and I know tuners and owners using the software I mentioned. For me, this is the way to go with my future b58 ;)

Great video. I’ve got a new m340i ordered with all the options. The price tag hurt and I had F80 money but after driving both the F80 and G80, I preferred the daily comfort of the G20. I also drove a new M5 and honestly that’s what I really want but they’re still out of my price range unless I get one with high mileage and I want a warranty.

If you want a raw driving experience the M3/M4 is what you are looking for. F3x is a much softer family car in comparison. I went from F36 to an F82. Speed isn't everything, but S55 gets more power mod for mod than B58. B58 is really good and fast if the F3x has xDrive. The M3/M4 is more of a drivers car.

It’s about 5% more compromised, but the trunk in the 440i is unbeatable. Highly reccomend one if you want something that can easily fit a bike in the back. While also looking better in my opinion, especially if you get the exec package headlights that are available on thr M3/M4

I'll miss the manual v8, insane redline and soundtrack, but for a person in my early 40s, in Michigan, this car really checks all the boxes. Can do a Costco run with the top up, and for the family of 4 with the top down, I couldn't be happier. Coupe in the winter with a set of Blizzaks, RWD, wish me luck!!! One thing that BMW owners should know, cooling system plumbing is plastic as opposed to metal like in the past. Chances are the heat causes these plastic parts crystallize and develop very small cracks that cause the coolant to evaporate slowly. Therefore no leaks would be detected from a slowly evaporating substance. If possible, replace all platsic plumbing with high quality generic or OEM metal parts.

I loved my 2012 f10, it was my first bmw, a 528i with the n20. It was nicely packaged and when I bought it with 40k miles with one previous owner all maintained at bmw service center for $17k (bought in 2018, sticker price was $58k) it seemed like a steal. I babied it, oil change every 5k miles, really didn’t push it hard since I knew n20 wasnt that strong for a big heavy 5 series, I loved the smooth ride and luxury. Literally not a single issue for 3 years. Except one evening driving home, out of nowhere the dreaded “power train” warning “reduced power”. I made it home, turned the engine off, waited 10 mins to power back on and my engine was shot, blown. You nailed it in your video, the timing chain being in the back of the engine and the guide made of plastic basically disintegrated, totaling my engine. $14k for a brand new engine, I didn’t even have 70k miles! Little did I know there’s a class action lawsuit bmw lost (kind of, all depends on your mileage and year of the car). I was lucky since I had low miles bmw ended of covering 80% of the cost. I got it fixed and then covid hit. Ended up selling it to carvana for $17.5k and got Lexus GS 350 F sport. I love my Lexus but not going to lie, I really miss my bmw. It’s a shame they use sooooo my plastic for critical parts of the engine that with my experience any bmw over 80k miles is such a risk. I love the brand, I love how every time I got in that car I enjoyed driving it, im just at the point I’ll take reliability over anything. Great video by the way. My 340i needed a new clutch after stage 1 and is currently in the shop for an ICS module replacement. Not cheap. It’s the module that controls safety features like DSC and other stability control features. Overall great car but for me it is proving BMWs expensive to own/reliability issue reputation.

Must be how you drive it I've seen alot of molded daily ones with no problems

@@lowverte3693 it’s luck of the draw with these cars honestly because every issue I’ve had there is already a Bimmerpost submission from someone who had the same problems. I did buy it CPO so idk how it was handled before. I do drive spirited quite a lot but it’s a BMW sports sedan and should not struggle with that at all imo

@@BuffaloSoldierH true yah 1 thing with bmw is if you by a used one got to make sure it has a good service history lile my 97 328i had 120k on it with good service history and I daily drove it for 3 years amd put 50k on it with not a si gle problem and I beat the dog shit out of it too I really want a 340i though really a m340i but that's out my price range

I really want one. Out of curiosity, i searched for rear drive manuals, and they are very difficult to find. Sticking to my e90 for now.

Don’t really like the new BMW look, but this BMW looks so sleek. It’s not overly aggressive and exaggerated. The proportions are elegant.

I’m picking up my m3 comp in 3 days, I was looking at the 340i for a while there but opted for the m3 as the price isn’t really that massive now! Was barely 10k difference and my m3 has ultimate pack, carbon buckets, carbon roof etc and connected professional pack…. It just seemed so much more car for not that massive a difference.

Great choice big difference in performance and how you feel. Although is m badged you still dont feel the same as a M3. I had 2020 m550 it had great HP and pull but now i own 23 M5C is just so much different lol

Great video once again Justin 👍🏽 FYI you can use 89 octane. Look under your gas cap.

Although i wouldn't pick a 340 over an M3, they're very capable vehicles especially with the B58.

This is my ride since 2017 with a bunch of M Performance parts and Xdrive. My plan was to get an M3 next year but I really don't like that front grille.

I test drove a f80 M3 ZCP yesterday and didn't like it that much, I found the steering to be lack luster and the seats to be very uncomfortable. My last BMW was a e90 M3 ZCP that I loved, but didn't fall in love with it because of various reasons. I'm considering a f30 340i M Sport because I want MPG, reliability and cost.

In my country, people say that a BMW car is a 100 euro car. That's because no matter what goes wrong with it, the repair never costs less than 100 euros!
