Lee! It's not really true to say that you only play for yourself, when tens of thousands see you playing on youtube every week. You've got a bigger audience than 99% of guys with guitars, so if you need a reason to practise, there it is!
@davecarsley8773
@davecarsley8773 5 жыл бұрын
That's actually true. Yes, Chappers might be a better guitar player technically, but I regularly break down and learn the licks that Lee plays during their jams (since he's more at my level). He has a bigger audience -- and is more or a role model -- than he thinks.

This is fantastic! You guys work so well together. This series is so informative and yet feels so casual and fun. Applauds to Justin for being able to convey any topic so clearly and hats off to The Captain for having the balls to so nonchalantly admitting all the stuff he doesn't know and goofing around in front of a large audience. The only complaint is that it's too short! Or it should be a daily show :)

I've been learning guitar over the internet for the past 4+ years. There is a wealth of information. Unfortunately, it lacks the continuity and linear delivery [as well as the structure/guidance Lee referenced] that a one-on-one teacher would provide. Lately, I've been wondering if I would be a better player if I had a personal teacher. Justin, your courses are the closest thing I've found to having an actual teacher that knows how to teach and set up instruction. You are clearly the best [used correctly] guitar teacher on the internet. Thanks for all you've done.

Absolutely Justin!! I did Marty's course for a year, then your beginner, intermediate, blues and jazz courses. Currently, working with Tim Pierce. I've purchase several of your backing track recordings and books. The structure you provide is second to none! Best on the internet. Your courses actually look like you had a plan when in development - unlike all the others who seem to put up whatever motivates them that day.

????? Please spare me the "mojo" nonsense. Learning does not come from within. The desire to learn, the desire to dedicate time, the desire to push one's self come from within. Learning, comes from external stimuli, new to the catalogue of information you already have. If learning came from within, we would all have "all the answers" already. Unfortunately, your opinion is one of those "flowery BS" lines that have held people back from actually mastering their craft. Respectfully

northof50now if u can, get a personal teacher. I think it’s quite different than learning from the internet. Eventually, you will move on if u want from an actual person and at that point the internet is very helpful. The internet’s great for people who can’t afford a personal teacher but there is something missing. Like you can’t ask any question you want or ask to learn things you want in particular etc.

If you’ve been playing for that long, find someone else to play with. That was the ultimate rut-buster for me. You pick up licks, timing and it forces you to get better because real people make mistakes for you to work around. Just a thought.

Justin, you've been my main guitar teacher throughout my learning jouney for the past two and a half years. I'm so grateful that such a motivational teacher as yourself guided me from 'the search for a nice hobby' to a truly passionate guitar pupil. Your courses are the best foundation to build my music exploration on. With a guitar playing passion there is a slight risk of falling in love with all sorts of guitar gear as well.. To see you with the people of my favourite gear channel truly makes me happy! Thanks a lot for everything man!

This is by far the best tuition I have yet found online, I am at a similar stage to Lee and like so many others find the rut makes me pick up a guitar less and less, but the 5 minute practice idea is surely the best way ever to improve, I am looking forward to spicing my playing up with this series, what a great resource. Thanks to Lee and Justin here.

The British Captain Pugwash animated television series, which originally aired on the BBC between 1958 and 1967, is widely believed to have featured characters with risqué maritime names such as Master Bates, Seaman Staines, and Roger the Cabin Boy. In fact, the crew of the famous Black Pig ship included sailors with no such names. Present on board were Master Mate, Tom the Cabin Boy, and Pirates Barnabas and Willy. (No character with the designation of ‘Seaman’ appeared in the show.) Series creator John Ryan successfully won retractions and settlements from Sunday Correspondent and the Guardian after both newspapers claimed that the show’s characters did indeed have smutty names, and that the BBC had taken it off the air as a result.

These lessons with Lee are great for me because I feel like I’m at a similar point in my music theory. I have a feeling a lot of people are stuck in the pentatonic boxes too. I love Lee’s willingness to set his ego aside and ask the questions we are all wanting him to ask. Great job!!

I feel so much better now. What Justin said at the end about not worrying what mode or scale that note falls into just play the damn thing because it sounds great and have fun with it. Damn. So spot on. And Lee is a better guitarist than he thinks, he just doesn't know it. And Justin is just a killer teacher.

I just want to take a moment to say thank you to both of you. I'm completely self taught, and can play well enough to do small shows but, since I never had a guitar teacher, I've simply had to pick things up along the way. Effective ways to practice however, isn't really something that comes up. I've watched Cap for years now, and found you through them. I can already tell that I'm going to be spending some time in your back playlist. Thanks again.

Justin - i know I’m nothing special, so I don’t mean to sound like a **** but always thought I was ‘past’ KZbin tutorial videos despite being in a rut for a while, so ignored loads of people who recommended your channel, until now! Just came across this and it has opened new doors for me. Explained some theory and explained some notes I already play but didn’t fully understand, without being too simple or too plain boring like some of the painful theory videos I’ve tried to put myself through! I’m convinced, and you’ve got s new subscriber! Cheers!
