Man Rhcp innovated like no other! They created a whole style. They brought rap, funk, Hendrix, rock, and pop culture all into one to create something that is one of a kind. Many bands after them tried to do the same. Incubus, Limp biscuit, rage against the machine etc. i understand for someone who is a nit picky perfectionist can can pick Anthony’s vocals apart, but you have to respect his free form spirit. He performs from his heart and soul. His earlier years in the mid 80s and early 90s were amazing. He is a true free form poet and MC at heart. He never was a singer. He was inspired by John and other singers to work on his craft and transform his vocal style out of his love and appreciation for music. It’s not always perfect, but it’s perfect for the Rhcp. If Anthony died, Rhcp dies with him. Him and flea were the founding fathers of this band. Nobody can do what Anthony does without sounding cringe or forceful. Rhcp is the best band alive. They have gone through so much individually and always come back together even stronger with new fresh music. Their longevity is elite and inspiring. They love each other and they love music. It’s their whole life. For someone to not like them or not appreciate their dedication to this art is mind blowing to me. Usually, The type of people who don’t like Rhcp have too big of an ego, they’re perfectionists, judge mental, they take shit WAY too serious, and have no idea how to have fun or be free. Rhcp is not about trying to be the best. They’re about love, freedom, having fun, innovating, not being so serious, funk/soul, family, being themselves, and not giving a funk what anyone thinks about them. That’s Pureness in its highest form.

I've been watching all of the Drumeo videos in this series. There have been some mind blowing ones, and this is one of them! Totally unexpected because he does something totally different from the other drummers who have participated. It's always either famous session drummers or just drummers used to playing with their mind, so to speak. So it's a lot of active listening going through the song several times, also without playing, and then maybe taking several takes. But Chad Smith jams along, which is a skill, and kinda nails it. Awesome stuff!

RHCP has a monster rhythm section. Chad is one of my favorite drummers of all time. Lots of power, with a lot of tasty bits thrown in for finesse. The Drumeo series is really informative, and I always like to hear and see what the drummers do when faced with unfamiliar material, I find it really helpful for my own playing. There is this one video in the series where this jazz dude is the drummer and he just isn't into it, and kinda half-asses it. Fekking jazz dudes, man. Talk about elitism.....

I come here to see what you have to say about it, and the video is out there if I'm made interested enough to want to see and listen to the whole thing without interruptions. I've seen so many react channels where they listen to the whole thing, don't move a single muscle in their face during the entire song and then only say a few words at the end. That's much worse, like... no reactions... in a react channel. No matter what, no one can ever accuse you of being stiff and expressionless. No matter if I agree or not, I've never been bored here!
