Ah, the version of which i just said "SO autotuned that is should get roasted for it. Horrible and lazy interpretation, "lets smooth over all the edges and make it beige"..". Not taking those back, if it is the same one we are talking about. That is the kind when you are making a product and eventually as you are polishing it, you take all the things away from it that makes the original great. The original has GREAT sense of parody and laughing at yourself, over the top stadium rock anthem with cheesy lyrics. Trying to make it "authentic and intimate"... It is kind of like people thing that "Every Breath You Take" is a love ballad, and then make a cover of it non-ironically. You did not get the song, you used the song, exploited it. Taking away all the edges it became nothing. And you obviously have the talent to do better.

It's great to see you being so generous. A lot of bands (I'm looking at you Eagles, in particular) would not only refuse to acknowledge these covers, but will actively strive to have them removed and blocked. I really don't see the sense in that. It's not like we are going to buy their version of the song instead of your's, and it keeps your version in people's minds. The Darkness are still current because we haven't forgotten you, and these covers are part of that.

I get it in the sense that it's their property, and they can share it how they like. That said, I discover many songs I never heard because others do a cover of them. It will make me go and look up the original so I can check them out too. So if you want more people to hear your music, let more people play your music.

This is a very special song to me. It was playing on the radio as I was steaming down the road far too fast having been told my one day old son had been rushed into the SCBU. If you listen to the lyrics imagining new parents looking at - and unable to hold - their one day old child in an incubator hooked up to various medical monitors they take on a very different meaning: ‘I believe in a thing called love, just listen to the rhythm of my heart, there’s a chance we can make it now, we’ll be rocking’ til the sun goes down…’

My first dance song at my wedding was I Believe In a Thing Called Love - Delta Goodrem blended with darkness version. It worked really well as it sounds like a nice slow song to get everyone up and then once they're on their feet it blended into the classic rock version we know and love and everyone had no choice but to stay up and keep dancing haha!

Its brilliant that you are so positive about it all. Really shows class. I saw the band a few years back, The personality shines through on stage. Top shelf.

Imagine a song you wrote being interpreted in so many ways around the world. Justin is so humble but he surely must realise he is one the legends of our time.

My wife and I sang a duet cover of I Believe in a Thing Called Love to start our wedding. We met at Karaoke, and it seemed a far more appropriate start than the traditional wedding march...

My rock band back in college covered I believe In A Thing Called Love in 2007. Didn't win the talent show, but I nailed all 3 solos. Thanks so much for everything you do!

Halocene have worked with Violet Orlandi a few times, always good. Post Modern Jukebox however, they always produce gold, their cover of the theme song for "Pinky and the Brain" is possibly the best thing they have done.

I am flabbergasted. so I just found your channel (and hell, no idea if you'll ever get to read this comment) through searching for Maneskin's new song as they're my favourite band since their win in 2021 and I saw your reaction to it, clicked on it like you do on youtube you know. Liked it, decided to watch your other videos on them. I got an odd feeling that you were supposed to be known and I couldn't pinpoint on how/why/etc. Then you mentioned The Darkness in one of the videos and I thought it sounded familiar but couldn't really remember for sure. And so I see this and it fucking clicked! I remembered but not only that but you're wearing an Habs shirt, my hockey team from my city in Canada... something I wouldn't have expected whatsoever! So all this to say this has been a funny coincidence and made my day today haha. How cool that you're on youtube and talking about music. Have a good one!
