I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, sleep deprived, inadequately caffeinated Justin is the best! Laughed the whole way through this and the “that’s me playing that guitar…” bit was absolutely adorable! If it makes you feel any better, Justin, I also get aggressively defensive if anyone even thinks of dissing The Darkness. Unless you want a passionate and exhaustive elucidation on the musical prowess of each individual member of the band and the perfection with which it all comes together, don’t diss The Darkness near me! I will literally rant for hours before forcing you to listen to every single song until you’re as addicted as I am! 😂😂😂

@Superduper Starwars Stopmotion Channel!(and more!) It’s interesting. I read somewhere that the word originated from a word meaning “meat”, and people would use it to refer to those they’d sit around the table and eat with. Seems to have carried on as a term for friendship here in the UK and Australia but not as much anywhere else. Just to add, I tend to see the term “buddy” or “bud” as a common term in the US, I’m not sure if it’s the same for the rest of the UK, but when I grew up if someone called you Buddy it was often sarcastically and ironically. But many places like the US seem to use it as a term of endearment

I also appreciate that you’ve never become products of your time or purely derivative of blues rock. I play all of your songs on guitar and I have never ever gotten tired of the riffs, they’re so satisfying to play. Justin… You are freaking awesome bro. Just awesome. Never ever in my life did I think I'd be following you on a KZbin channel, but here we are. All because of that one song back when I was in my 20s. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the inside scoop honestly, hilariously, and timely! My dad, as sweet as he is, just sent me the Panda Express commercial the other day 😂 Now we get the backstory!! By the way, IBIATCL is timeless - we'll never forget it was voted #1 Song of the 21st Century by Classic Rock readers!!

I believe in a thing called royalties. HAR-HAR-SNORT. That incident with the costume tassels getting caught in the stage rigging would be brilliant on film. It could rival Spinal Tap's "Stonehenge" incident.

It's no wonder this came across my feed, 6 months later, but here it is none the less, and you now have a new/reborn admirer. I now must have you entire back catalogue. It's. I love your sincerity. Forgive me, English is my first language. I did poorly at it. I don't know how to articulate my joy for you. You had me laughing and captivated and appreciating the accidental education you and others, not quite like you, are bestowing upon me. You seem like a real genuine person that actually appreciates life and your place in it. Thank you. Cheers

It's so great to see you home! Welcome back! Oh man, I LOVED this video today. Not only because you're hilarious as always (honestly, you're so funny, I was bloody cry laughing). Your insight into the music biz from the other side was so interesting. Especially to hear your side as a songwriter's perspective. I used to work for APRA here in Australia for six years (Australasian Performing Right Association) and my job was in licensing events (collecting setlists to divvy up royalties on festival sets) and venues and trying to explain all of this to venues and festival people about songwriter royalty rights was often met with disdain. (Ere, why do I have to pay a licence, when I'm already paying the artist? type conversations). I wish I had this video at the time. It would have save me a lot of energy and they would have been beguiled by your charm! Money-in-the-bank! Another fab video, Justin and welcome home!

I actually work in advertising and he’s bang on, it is a very long winded process when it comes to music usage in adverts. And a very very expensive one at that. Sometimes we even rework songs so that we can have further control over how it sounds. To give you an idea of how much this costs, we once used a pretty famous train related song from a group of brothers and it cost us about £110k per year!

Justin, you might never read this, but your video/channel popped up as sheer synchronicity. As I watch you, I’ve been adapting a play from a short story I wrote last year. The sections are named after my favorite songs from 2003-04, though in a way it’s a playlist for my readers to feel the zeitgeist. The climax is titled: I Believe in a Thing Called Love. And the working title of the play is, you guessed it: I Believe in a Thing Called Love. My respect and admiration for you has grown exponentially thanks to your channel. You rock!!!

I almost never comment on KZbin, but two things: 1 -- You MUST react to the band "Momma". This young band is Smashing Pumpkins + the Pixies + Sonic Youth in a blender - and Justin ... the resulting cocktail tastes *GOOD*. Try the songs "Motorbike" or "Lucky" - but in my early listening everything they do is wonderful to 1990s-honed ears. 2 -- Thank you for being so genuinely fascinated by new music after all the years and all the fame. You don't have to do this. You could easily just retread the favorite artists of your youth, but you engage with new stuff all the time, in a curious and passionate way. THANK you. Sharing in someone else's passion and learning along the way - this is what the internet is for.

The Darkness came at a time when there was absolutely no one else doing anything remotely like it. Brilliant stuff. Me and my best mate had Permission to Land on repeat in the car, absolutely loved it, still do. When you do something unique, you stand out, it makes you an easy target. Fuck the haters, you guys rock and that song is a genuine classic. Good on you Justin, its great to find out you are a genuine, lovely guy as well as having an incredible voice and presence as a performer. 😊🤘
