Their music covers a wide variety of rock music and is very accessible. World class song writing, incredible vocals and the production on their records is top notch.

They are legends at building that tension in songs. "Free If We Want It" is a song I have on repeat when I want to calm down and/or shut the world out. "Phobia" though is a song by them that fuels me through moments when I'm angry with the world and something you'll enjoy. "Real Love Song" is also a moment of euphoric rock! They have something for everyone. Review more of their stuff please as they are hugely underrated. Edit: I can't forget "Particles" either. Perfection.

It's always interesting to hear people analyze my favorite band, and this was especially fun since I've not seen anyone really nerd out over the instrumentation before. Definitely check out more songs, because one of my favorite things about Nothing But Thieves is the breadth of their music. It feels like whatever mood I'm in, they've done a song that fits. Even on this album youve got poppy stuff like Overcome, but then there's also stuff like Pop The Balloon, which is TOTALLY different and feels darker and crunchier. I cant think of any other band but them where I don't dislike a single song in their catalog tho!

Glad you've covered this. My favourite song of the year. I think NBT influenced heavily by 70s rock - they even namecheck ELO on one of the songs. One of my other favourites of this year (totally different as it's synthwave) is Gunship's 'Monster in Paradise' feat. Milkie Way of Wargasm. Even though it's 80s synth there's this incredible guitar v sax middle section, that's insane!
