We have always been Catholic but two years ago today we started going to the traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass. it’s very different and we love it. I loved hearing that you went that’s the best way to celebrate Christmas ( Christ’s Mass). I hope you go more often maybe for Easter too.

Made me tear up watching you with your elders…I’m 65 and just have my Dad and his 2 sisters. My Dad is in OR, my Aunts on east coast and I’m in CA….its hard to visit. Saw my Dad in October and called him this morning, but weekly phone calls just don’t have the same effect.

In the last five years I've had to accept my hearing loss on set which happened in January of 2018 in the right year...... it's been a hard adjustment- that hasn't been resolved yet with a hearing aid, - as a result I can only hear about half of what you are saying- although I know it's important to keep the bond with family as they get older

Sounds a lot like me I have a little over 1 acre. I have 30 chickens and ducks and I grow a garden and in the woods behind my property which is about 20 acres of Marshland. I do my hunting on with my neighbors permission. I do sell a few eggs but most of the time they’re just giving away to my friends and family. If I can raise them I think I can help others even though I’m not gaining any monetary gain from it, but helping others is not making money off it it’s there to help others.

We don't really do presents either since we provide everything for our children and give them what they need throughout the year and we live in a tiny space too with no room for stuff haha. I felt glad that you are similar. Chocolate is a great gift. It is important to focus on being together. It is so hard when relatives lose their memories. I struggled with that with my great-aunt who was more like a grandmother to me. It was really hard to have her forget me completely before she passed.

You need more than a wall. All you need is a regular high water event to scour the dirt out from behind it. There need to be big rocks behind the wall, too. Any new high water will then push them all together, interlocking them, rather than just washing away all this effort.

Happy New Year! I grew up on a farm. My grandparents and my dad raised a garden every year. Our family also raised tobacco also. I can remember going to the place where my papaw sold the tobacco. Our part of the land with the house was sold last year. My grandparents passed in the late 80’s and 90’s. I have always thought of trying to grow cucumbers or tomatoes on our porch. I live in a townhouse.
