It’s nice to see you take a day for just family and friends. I just spent four days with family, who came to visit, and I feel so rejuvenated! There is something to be said about having down time to just let the world pass you by for a bit, then get back at it with a new sense of purpose!

I think that LiLY had suggested to clear the broken glass out of the cooler, to use a slotted ladle to scoop the bigger pieces out. Then dump it...less chance of getting a cut in anyone's foot.

If the vent wasn't connected, the inside of the dryer may be full of lint. You should take the back off and vacuum it out. Also, the heating element is easy to replace and fairly inexpensive. I bet Randolph could do it in his sleep.

Hey bud. Put elastic bands around your mason jars. it will stop them from breaking when they hit each other in the cooler. That's how my mom packed out picnics when I was a boy.

You need to plant basil with your pumpkins, will help get rid of the Japanese/orange beattles. Have in containers and in the garden and very few battles seen any more.

To protect the jars in the cooler you could make a grid or little rings out of foam pipe insulation so they don’t bump into each other.

Love you guys! A hint for your squash bugs and mold on pumpkins and cucumbers etc. Soapy water, sounds too simple ay but pure washing soap is slippery and really messes with the bugs.

Maybe not the best idea to dump the cooler with the broken glass where the kids walk, especially with Giddeon not wearing shoes?

Was it a Mason Bee or a Bumble Bee, they are different. From what I could see the bigger one was a Bumble Bee. Many people kill a Bumble Bee thinking it is a Mason Bee. Honestly, we need them all.

Community can be hard. The homestead lifestyle seems to attract a more conservative crowd here in Eastern North Carolina. We are a large multi race blended rainbow family. We work 30 minutes from our home and we have no network or community. It can be lonely out here if you're an outlier. (My partner and I are gay, my sons 22, 20, and 17 live with us, my daughter 24 and her biracial daughter live with us, and my partner and I are raising her biracial niece 9.) The church has hurt most of us and is an uncomfortable place to seek community. The neighbors are all related and much older, keep to themselves and own all the land around us. I know we need community but I'm not sure where to start. 😢 Any thoughts are appreciated

Lol the child he's human. That's how we are. He's also a teenager so it's more intense. Justin has it good compared to a majority. He could do more work himself than I using it all on kids. Bro was visiting with family and dad just comes in and documented scolding him and not enough work. That's frustrating and lame. Of course the young man's voice would crack. How were you as a child?
