❤️ “Without hope it feels like you have no future.” I think that’s why I love watching your vlogs so much. You guys helped me have hope again: for the type of family life I want, and the type of home life I want, and that my dreams aren’t dumb.

Oh, C.M. Bauer, your dreams are NEVER dumb. Maybe not appreciated by others, but never dumb. Dare to dream big, then go after those dreams with your whole heart. Otherwise, you end up at a place in life where those dreams are way more difficult to achieve. It’s hard to not be encouraged when watching this channel. Be brave and build the family and life you dream of!

You could think that by needing more help from the kids you are putting a burden on them. Or you could think that by watching and noticing when they step up you are giving them a chance to shine. I only know you from the vlog, but from here....Those kids SHINE!

That is absolutely spot on. I saw this in my own life after a terrible freak accident when my children were 2, 13 & 15. I never intended on having my children step up so much, and carried a lot of guilt for it initially, but watching how much they grew and actually came into their own was the blessing of the whole experience!

The only way this series could get better is to create MORE. I'd love for the creators to dive deeper into the lives of each person that plays a role in the success of this family. The camera work is superb, the orchestral selections glue the moments together, but the people that touch your lives are what capture and connect us to you, and inspire us to reach for as much as God has to offer. ♥️

I remember saying, 2 years ago.. Heaven forbid that anything SHOULD happen to Justin, but if it did, those kids would be able to continue and survive well. They have been that well raised, and they are so capable; more than others twice their ages.

I cried when I watched this. My own auto-immune arthritis isn't going to get better, and there are tough times. The best we can hope for is that the drugs stop it getting worse. But after 27 years I am content with the life I have - because what I do have and can still do, even from my wheelchair is LOVE. It's all you need, right?

Wow!!! So moving, thank-you for sharing your life....the good and the not so good. I remember watching a KZbin video about this guy fetching eggs from his chickens and then coming into the house to cook breakfast with them for his family. That's was the first time I saw Justin. Something about that post kept me interested and I found myself waiting and watching for the next one. I still have not managed to get my chickens....but I haven't lost hope. One day...it will happen and it all started because I watched this guy talk about how easy it is to raise chickens. Wishing you all the very best Justin and Rebecca.

I also have those same 2 auto ammune disorders plus high blood pressure. I got off all prescription meds this spring and started a daily regiment of natural supplements. The change was almost immediate. I have so much more stamina now, lost weight by being more act active and built muscle. I take olive leaf, vit B complex, flax seed, potassium, magnesium and a supplement called "pressur-lo". The pain in my knees went away within days. I haven't had a flare up in months. When I did have flare ups in the past, it was like being hit by a truck with extreme pain and fatigue. I took on more chores and even scraped and painted the exterior of our house. I wake up with more enthusiasm and not dread. I found the answer I was looking for to continue on. I hope the same happens for you and Justin and anyone with chronic illness and pain.

For the past few years, have thoroughly enjoyed all the videos of your family journey in homesteading. Watching the documentation of your home-steading journey has touched me in ways that I cannot completely explain because I am the grand-daughter of an early 1900’s,, Oklahoma homesteading family. You have filled me with memories of all the many visits visits to my grandparents farm, the smells of home-made bread, fresh eggs, milk, and amazing harvest tables spread full of home-grown food brought by family and friends. They were authentic, hard-working folks, who produced almost everything they needed right on the farm. There would be occasional trip into town for coffee, sugar and large bags of flower that came in cotton bags printed with flowers. Those bags, when empty would be used for hand towels, aprons and quilting squares. A windmill and a pump was their source of water for many years, and a pot-bellied stove heated the house and water for bathing and laundry. In those days, People greeted each other with eye contact, a smile, a good solid handshake….. hugs for family and good friends. Children went barefoot, like your’s…. With their feet in direct contact with the blessed earth! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Been watching for about 2 years now. Just scrolling thur and I see you video and I go on but something lead me back to you. I wanted and tried this lifestyle back in the 80's. But life throws lemons sometimes and things change. Now in the present with a new man in my life we both decided to go back to the way of life that made it happier and start homesteading. It fulfill me completely. Sadly loss is part of life. I lost my youngest of 4 yesterday he was 36 and this was just what I needed. It's actually the life I tried living back in the 90's with my children. So happy for you all. I do hope the children continue to go on with this life in the future. You have given them a wonderful start in life. I admire you both for that. Carry on

This was absolutely Heart Warming. ❤ Watching your journey through your pain and then coming through that, through your eyes has touched me, more then you'll ever know Justin. Having watched you grieve over losing your dad and hearing how you've come through that, and how you've overcome your pain with your body, not wanting to cooperate, has helped me immensely. Recently, I lost not only my father September 26th, 2021, but my mother, 6 days later, both dying of Covid. It's been extremely, extremely, painful, but YOU JUSTIN, YOU, helped me through. And, you've shown me, that with that, I CAN, attitude I can make it through too. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Best episode yet, in my opinion, of Rooted. May God continue to Bless you all, Laurel 💗

The meds that helped I felt like we're toxic. He lasted another 10 yrs. He eventually had symptoms of Dementia & Parkinson. Unfortunately the care he needed we couldn't continue living together. We were drowning in medical debt. It wouldn't have been horrible if Mom got sick. His death just happened in Sept, so raw. It's hard to see if tomorrow will bring Joy.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Remembering that there is hope even when facing life’s challenges is vital. I am 20 years older then you and Rebecca and faced some really hard challenges in the past 10 years…..closing a business I loved and had been at since I was 19 years old, going through a divorce that I never imagined could be part of my life, starting my life’s work in a new place with new co-worker, surviving a brain aneurysm and two brain surgeries and all that comes with that. Searching for happiness when it was really hard to see past a day, let alone a bright future was really hard……..for me happiness was definitely found in gratitude! I had started a simple gratitude journal, some days all I wrote was my 3 daughters names……then it grew to the point I didn’t have enough time to write everything down. Simple Abundance is where my happiness was found. My life is full and bright these days.Again, thank you for this beautiful video reminder.

This was a very powerful Episode. How well your children pulled through without even being asked, they knew they could do it. They were there for you no matter how hard it could be. It's the love of family, and that is so powerful. It also teaches others to have their kids help them on their land, so when there is a real need, they can step up and show that they are a big part of the family. Can't even remember how many years I have watched you, but it's been some time! Can't believe you still have those sandles that you have already repaired. You did a great job fixing them. What is Henry going to be known for? Will he be like Mr. Brown's shoes? He hasn't lost them as much lately ;-) I also liked that he said he was going to help with chores when you just went on this trip. Shows that he is really growing up! Sending love to you and the family from Western, N.Y.

First time viewer. Reaffirmed the truth that happiness is nice but the joy of being rooted in Christ fills the heart for eternity 🙏❤️

Haven't seen any since you did the free viewing link. I enjoyed seeing you tell how you spend so much time together. I can relate to that part. Gotta do what makes it work for YOUR family not what society thinks is best for families

This story, and whole series and your channel reminds me of a saying (and I can't remember who said it I apologize) "We live in Saga times." The sagas didn't just happen hundreds of years ago to mythical heroes. We live them now. The joy, the sorrow, the suffering and anger and bliss that our ancestors experienced we still experience in our lives and perhaps even more so when we dig deep into the soil our ancestors also dug into and wept and bled and sweated into. Thank you for the good work you all are doing. May you be blessed.

I love you all so much,I too am overcoming chronic pain and chronic fatigue,at times lately I feel like I’m losing hope and faith in recovery.I grieve the ability to do so much and do it well cause I love life and being of service to others, whether that be cleaning a toilet, making a wonderful dinner ,to spending quality time with my granddaughter’s. Thank you all for inspiring me to know that anything and everything is possible with the purest of intention ,focus and gratitude to aspire to be fully invested in overcoming all obstacles! I too have taught my children to never use the words I” Can’t “ I say they’re not in our vocabulary and it’s come to my attention by my grown children that I need reminder of this! Momma it’s How” can I” exactly how you have stated Justin it’s a mindset that is so powerful.I create my reality by my own thoughts I know this,Time to get out my pen and paper and even if it be in bed,I can begin to believe in the power of setting intention’s towards living my life of abundance in every aspect of my life,it begins with me😊💜I look forward to becoming a member of Abundance plus to continue to be part of a wonderful community of homesteader’s and Visionary’s to make our world a better place for future generations to come🌻💛🌻God bless the beautiful community your creating 🇨🇦❤️🧡🌷🌸🌻
