Finally, "Werewolves" will no longer sound like I'm playing a strange twisted version of Sweet Home Alabama. You nailed the groove of this one. Brilliant song and lesson, especially the bit about ghost notes, those chik-a-chiks can really help flesh out a tune. Some of the best songs are the simplest at their core. Thanks Justin!

There is a video of Warren on here, accompanied by two guitars and bass. Also a video with a recording of David Bowie singing it; the electric guitar is very prominent on that. This lesson by Justin will be great fun to learn, he has got the right tone with that SG.

A nice tip of the hat to guitarist Waddy Wachtel. His group of legendary sidemen, The Immediate Family, which also includes Leland Sklar and Danny Kortchmar, are like The Wrecking Crew of Laurel Canyon. They played on dozens of classic albums. And as for Warren Zevon...a mad genius, absolutely one of a kind. One of his many famous quotes: "I set out to become the rock and roll Vladimir Nabokov. Instead I became known as the evil Jimmy Buffett."

Good lesson. The music theory is important and the strumming. The other important part is the amplifier setup to simulate the original song. The setup is something that takes more knowledge than I have.

Love this song Justin, thank you for sharing this with us. I'm going to try this one acoustic, I don't own an electric and don't have any plans to purchase one. Take care of yourself and your family and stay safe. Again thank you for all the fantastic lessons. From Charlie in the States. I like that you say the feeling of the groove, if you can't feel it you'll never learn to play it. Feeling is the most important part of music. Without feeling, it's just missing something.

Zevon! "His hair was perfect". Hope you'll also teach Lawyers, Guns, & Money eventually. (Speaking of Zevon, you've taught no songs by the guy who made Zevon's first album possible. Please teach some Jackson Browne songs! :-) ) Speaking of friends of Jackson Browne, Waddy Wachtel is currently recording and touring with The Immediately Family (mostly members of The Section, from James Taylor and Jackson Browne's early albums.) Check them out.

First - you do a fantastic job on this channel Justin. I have a question about your transcription of this song. Both the D and G chords you play as power chords (with a shuffle 6) but I'm wondering why you use a triad on the C-chord? Did you have a particular reason rather than maintain the power chord + 6 shuffle? Keep up the great work!
