How does someone even write such a beautiful piece of Music... George was a genius.
@timnewman11722 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Lennon & McCartney get the spotlight as the main writers in the Beatles, but George's compositons were simply elegant & brilliant...
@Marcus_C514 ай бұрын
Yes, I happened to see George and Paul Simon's appearance on SNL a couple of nights ago and it positively warmed my heart and thrilled me all over again to hear what a beautiful song it is! I also marveled at how perfect it is, he put the melody together totally hand in glove with the chords in a unique way. Sheer genius indeed.

After many, many times of watching the video and practicing, then leaving it for a few weeks or a month and coming back to it, I can finally say I'm getting close to nailing the rhythm and picking out the melody. Fabulous tutorial, a good example of a song I would have never figured out from looking at tabs. This is among my favorite songs and I always wanted to learn it on guitar. I'm nearly in disbelief at the progress I've made, many thanks to you for all that you do Justin.

That’s the way to do it for me too. I realized that sometimes my brain takes a rest from me practicing and forcing things. Good live lesson.
@nickco7776 ай бұрын
Whether it be the guitar or piano, when attempting something new, my brain takes time to absorb it. Initially it doesn't matter how much I practice it, it rarely comes straight away. Leave it overnight, or a couple of days, and then hey presto, it comes together.
@Marcus_C514 ай бұрын
@@nickco777 It reminds me of the old days when I had to learn so many songs by ear. Used songbooks too when I could find them, but some were frequently wrong or way too basic. Seeing songs played live or on TV of course always helped, I learned a ton by seeing the voicings used etc. Justin does a fantastic job and it was good to see him play for a refresher course, it's been a couple of decades...Good point on how some time away will set you up for a clearer "frame" of the song and success in playing it.

Most don’t explain that when you put the capo on the 7th fret even though you’re fretting the D major shape, it’s actually 3 and1/2 tones higher ie an A major chord. So if you want to play the song with NO capo and sound like the record in the same key play the piece in A major. There are solo guitar, entirely fingerpicked versions in A major with no capo. [KZbin]. Trust this helps!

Here Comes The Sun is one of the trickiest songs I’ve learned. Tricky-not difficult. The picking is quite clean and pre- case, and the time changes come in the flow of the song, so you have to be careful with those. You know, George was one hell of a guitar player and song writer. This is one of my very favorite Beatle songs. Really well done, Justin. Great song, great lesson even though I already know the song. Your tutorial is excellent for young and curious guitar students. I’ve sent it to a couple of my students. You always emphasize basics, rhythm, and strumming. Very nice!

So ..... hear to listen to the master, refresh and clean up my act! Over the years Justin, you have taught me so much! You taught me Whole Hearted. There is a song that shares a lot of chords with it ... Drag Racer, Doug Wood Band. Extremely fun to play, (like Whole Hearted) great sound with not too much effort, uses lots of bits of chords?...
