As good old legends fan and multimedia I hope to God they don't use this body armor for delta squad and even regular white republic commando. It's missing elbow armor, waist is different, shoulder pads has different design and much more bigger, gloves are way off has chunk for mini vibration blade, thigh are different, shoes need to be much chunk, wrist is different. Knee pads are different. I can go on lol. I'm glad they now decided to do commandos but man... for doing live action is just disappointing for me. Thank you for the review tho glad you enjoy it but man just a hasbro moment for me.

All these differences are because this is a reuse of Hunters mold who has modified commando armour with different proportions specifically for him. And this is based on TCW’s artstyle and not even live-action

I think overall, it makes sense for this version of the commando to look the way it does since it is based on bad batch/clone wars art style. Fingers crossed, going forward, they do more of the original bulked up commandos, at least for delta squad or the battlefront molds. I also wish the gun had some paint applications on the magazine to replicate the shot counter from the games just as a little nod. Also if/when we do get Delta Squad I really hope some of the commandos have unique accessories such as scorch having det packs/explosives or sev having the sniper attachment rather than the grenade launcher

This figure isn’t accurate. It’s just a repaint of Hunter, so the overall design and proportions are off. Hunter is basically wearing a modified, more streamlined version of the commando armor, so while they’re similar, they’re not 100% the same.

Awesome review Justin! I can’t wait to get mine in soon. I agree with you, hopefully this means we’ll be getting Delta Squad and other Republic Commando variants. Republic Commando is one of my favorite video games of all time, and I’m so glad Hot Toys has started making commandos. I’m just hoping that this is the only variant that they make limited. If they were to make any member of Delta Squad or Gregor or any of the generic white/shiny commandos limited, it would be a complete travesty. I absolutely do not like Hot Toys making clone troopers limited in any way

I'm not too salty about the proportions the more I look at this fella (except the height is terrible). They did the same thing Hasbro did ALMOST verbatim, at least this commando got his proper chest piece with the ribbed neck area, other wise its just a hunter repaint, i guess from a company stand point, reuse is the way to go, but when the parts you're reusing are inaccurate to what you're trying to make, why bother? weird that somehow, NOBODY from Hot Toys saw the backlash that Hasbro received for doing this,

This is literally a Hasbro moment. An animated style Hunter repaint with a realistic battlefront 2 commando helmet. It is inaccurate to the animated design, becouse it still has Hunters unique modifications, being more skinny than a regular commando, and it has a realistic helmet. And it is inaccurate to the Realistic design, as exept the helmet it has the animated style body proportions (not to mention it has Hunters skinny proportions, wich are absolutely inaccurate to the regular commandos). The only difference between this figure and Hasbros is the pricetag. For this price, it should be at least be an accurate depiction of a commando armor. Now even if they will ever do Delta Squad, or at least Scorch, they would definetely all have these half animated, half realistic, Hunter proportions, meanwhile if they made an actual realistic commando based on the battlefront 2 model, they could repaint it multiple time and it would sell well and would be accurate.
