Well that’s because 1 it’s is simply a product of the time and 2 franchises often fluctuate on their tone and even genre. GT was steeped in style and was made back when the tone and style of dragon ball z was much more in line with Sci-fi and western styles,themes,tropes etc. it’s why many still like GT, you can even argue that Gt in a lot of ways shows the appeal dbz has in the west. If u think I’m lying go look back at all the early z movies literally they are just like 80s and 90s Sci fi movies from western culture but anime.

GT takes place after the "End of Z" Arc, which is why Super hasn't reached that point yet because it still takes place before the EOZ Arc, So he's not wrong.

I think the reason Gt holds up is mainly because it incapsulates the style/heart of dbz. It has heavy western and Sci fi themes and designs as well as stylized and unique animation that made Z what it is.

It wasn't relevant information. What a lot of people don't get is what caused the regular dragonballs to split were the Black Star Ball.... The regular balls had successfully contained the negative energy they made, until a wish was made on the black star balls, which coated the earth in a MASSIVE amount of negative energy, which the regular balls absorb and became overloaded by.

It's funny. One of the things GT gets hated on the most for, is Goku being transformed into a kid. Now, Dragonball Daima does the EXACT same thing but worse, changes EVERYONE into a kids, and all these people who hated GT for Kid Goku absolutely LOVES Daima, with zero regard for that fact. The writers for GT said they changed Goku into a kid for 2 reasons: 1. To recapture the spirit of the original Dragonball. 2. They felt Goku by this time in his story was TOO strong to write for effectively. So they changed him into a kid to weaken him. (His base power as a child being vastly superior to all forms of Buu). GT isn't a perfect story. It certainly had some execution problems. However,ot is still a good story and the TRUE ending to Dragonball. I've said it for years, the only thing that needed to make GT better is making some of the non-Goku fights longer and more dramatic..... That's literally it.... -Extend the struggle of Goten, Gohan, and Vegeta against Baby. - Show Gohan and Piccolo go all out on a struggle. - Extend the battle of Uub/ later Majuub against Baby. - Show all the Z fighters in action against the revived villains. - Have all the Z fighters split up and take on the shadow Dragons. Do these things and literally no one is complaining about GT being a bad series.

Dragon ball GT= Goku’s time because he is really the only one who gets some true character development. GT has interesting concepts that I really just executed in a lackluster fashion. It’s definitely enjoyable tho because it has the uniqueness to feel like dragon ball and Z at the same time.

I loved all I saw of GT it might be my favorite piece of Dragonball media granted I have no interest in the original show anymore, although I have fond memories of it, and of course Akira Toriyama has had a massive impact on the industry R.I.P but as my taste switched to more pure sci fi anime, Votoms, space battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock, various mecha anime, and sci fi and fantasy anime films, I just love everything about it, I love the space exploration aspect, Baby and super 17 are cool, and the shadow dragons give actual consequences to the Dragonball, even if I’m not a huge Dragonball fan anymore, hate me if you like GT makes me feel happy, I genuinely feel a warmth when I watch it, i love it.

Actually it’s the other way around. DBS had more involvement from Toriyama. While GT he only made a few characters designs he did not make GT. He even called GT a side story while Super is a continuation
