Connor cook was definitely not good during the playoffs, but my goodness how many drops can they give a 3rd string guy already having a tough game?!
@CarlosRivera-eo5yh2 жыл бұрын
I remember this game vividly and was actually not too worried about him starting because I knew his potential from his time at MSU. It was frustrating that they were counting him out before he had even started!! I thought he played really well for a third string rookie, but the WRs definitely shit the bed this game. It would have been a completely different game if it hadn’t been for all those drops!

For some reason, this makes me so nostalgic for a team that no longer exists.... even if the city treated them like garbage... as to Connor Cook, classic example of a guy letting his ego and pride get the best of him and it cost him possibly a decent NFL career... side note: I remember being in sports mgmt. class and the playoff week of this game and, I wanted the Raiders to win, but I was kinda uneasy about it.... and my gut proved me right, and as a result, Connor Cook's career flamed out faster than a Burger King Whopper

As an MSU fan I’m biased, but it’s interesting to look at Cook and Prescotts careers. I’m not saying Cook is better than Dak, but both had almost identical stats in college and were drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. The difference is one went to a dysfunctional raiders team and the other went to the cowboys with a top 5 oline and rb. It’d have been interesting to see how Cooks career turned out if he went to pretty much any other team Also, the rose bowl winning team was the year MSU had a chance at the championship. Notre Dame got so many PI calls in their favor that kept the Spartans from being undefeated, and with an undefeated FSU and one loss Auburn there was no chance MSU jumped them in the BCS era. The teams after that we’re not as stout on defense, but it poetic MSUs first trip back to the Rose Bowl in 30 years ended in dramatic Superman tackle fashion
@justmaxproductions2 жыл бұрын
there was a cut section of the video where I brought up how Dak led the Cowboys to the NFC's one seed and how the Raiders could have had him instead, but I scrapped it because it didn't really fit in

WALUIGI TIME! once he turned pro. :P Nice little whiplash there. And hey, Connor Cook goes down as the only Raiders quarterback to play a playoff game in the 2010s. That's something.
