Very clean the headers for the a body big block has come a long way I have a set of old a body 2 inch and they were a pain the one side has more dents u wouldn’t believe but I guess company’s have come a long way over the years I forget the name of them it was in the 90s wen I had a 67 fs 383 and the exhaust is so small I had to switch to headers it looked almost identical to Joes except the back wheel were centre lines front skinnies with centre lines on front like I say it made me miss my barracuda it would only go 13 with no headers in the quarter high 13 but man I had fun miss that car but every thing you do is top notch you will be a top notch Mopar man and u don’t look that old plus your good with math which helps wen building these motors with the help of ed your machinist like Joe dirt says keep on keeping on well done Joe

A little trick I used to do tight spark plugs...Grab a length of 3/8 rubber fuel line hose, put it over the end of the spark plug like the wire boot, and you have a simple swiveling extension to thread in your spark plug with , without having to have one hand getting in the way of the other...I think once you get the hang of this method, you'll find life a lot easier...lol, great video by the way, keep up the good work.

Tell wifey you want one of those gizmos from Harbor Freight for Christmas that hangs from the cherry picker and has a crank on the front to adjust the engine angle. You will never put an engine in again without it. Congratulations on the install. By the way the elephant ear mounts are on the wrong side.
@JustMoparJoe
@JustMoparJoe Жыл бұрын
Haha! Those levelers are for Ford guys who have studs sticking out of their converters. As for the ears, I wanted them behind the ears, in case I can pull this engine forward and out someday. I also used the angle iron as a rest for the ears before drilling my bolt holes, so they are sitting on the iron, and bolted to it. Hoping that more points of contact will strengthen it.

The Baracuda is looking good Joe! I have the same TTI headers on my 65 BB Plymouth, that #6 plug is a mother but it gets easier every time you mess with it. The engine sure sounds sweet,Joe. I didn't realize those are stepped primaries (headers). My TTI long tube (2" primaries) on the Dart with 440 were different, as i was able to use a stock "mini" type starter for a 90's Dodge van, remove & replace without touching the headers.

Looking good Joe. Tight tight. Was wondering on your shifter cable do you run it over the front of the transmission or do you bring the shifter cable around the rear? I have a Hurst pro Matic and the cable no matter how I run it forward. It wants to burn on my headers. I cannot figure out how to run it backwards from the rear, wasn’t sure anyone was doing that. Thanks.

You probably have one of those mini starters, but I do so love the sound of the old high torque Mopar big block starters that were installed on the higher compression engines. @JustMoparJoe

I didn’t use their included gaskets. Those have the kinda carbon stuff that gets hit and crumbles out over time. I bought the multi layer aluminum gaskets from summit. They crush up and seal really well. I did use antiseize in all bolt holes for my aluminum heads.
