Just so you actually understand why the dystopia version of odd eye matters so much… handong was gone for scream and boca and this video was the first time we saw her in those two outfits. The change between the three outfits was scream boca and odd eye. At the end you see handong with the mask because she was the masked member in the scream MV.

Odd Eye was peak Wolfie Siyeon era! Handong removing the mask was symbolic of the masked dancer that takes her place in Scream and Boca eras, while she was stuck in China during the pandemic, as if she never left.

Personally, what the last Handong mask means seems to mean returning to Korea from China and returning to the team. During Dreamcatcher's "Scream" activity, a backup dancer wore a mask in Handong's place. Handong couldn't join the team due to Chinese activities and visa issues, so she couldn't participate in "Scream" and "Boca" activities, but she later joined again, and the video production time looks similar to the date she returned to China from Korea.

Shout out to Huang Sooyeon, Dreamcatcher's performance director, her two sub-choreographers and her dance crew. She's been creating amazing choreography since Deja Vu and dancing backup since Scream. The fact that the dancers are in perfect sync with Dreamcatcher says a lot about their dance skills. She and her crew also dance backup for other groups (Mamamoo's Chico Malo) and also perform alone. I'm really looking forward to what she has for us with the new comeback.

Sua is the main dancer but in reality she is a pure all-rounder who can rap and sing well (she can hit the highest note in the group, Dami can hit second highest...yeah I know that doesn't make sense but they did a competition and that's how it worked out lol). dreamcatcher is so thoughtful, even storytelling in a dance video. dystopia version shows the 3 parts of the dystopia series through their outfits (black suit is from scream, red outfit from boca and black/white suits from odd eye). handong didn't get the chance to wear the scream and boca outfits so dreamcatcher made the dystopia dance video to reveal she was the masked dancer in the scream and boca music videos where she wasn't present. now she's back, mask off, ready to come for the kill. also, in the dance practice they wore black and white to make the eye shape in the intro and outro stand out even more!

What amazed me about Odd Eye was the flipping jump or the jumpy flip (no matter how you are gonna call it). When they were flipping or flying or jumping in the sky, Siyeon was belting high notes at the same time. She’s so amazing.

If you check the live videos she actually doesn’t jump, just shifts from one foot to another - she conserves energy for the high note. Was watching some dancer do choreo reactions and he pointed it out. If you look you can often see the others lower their dance energy, too, before it’s their turn to sing.

Dreamcatcher have earned IMMENSE respect from their peers for always having super-challenging choreography AND singing live while performing. I have seen numerous quotes from other idols about how wow'd they are by what Dreamcatcher do. In addition Dreamcatcher have an extremely good reputation within the industry as professionals and also because they are very nice, kind and respectful to all their staff. Word gets around about which groups treat their staffs well and which don't - when they got their first win last year there were lots of quips about how all the staff at Show Champion were rooting for Dreamcatcher.

Handong was not in Scream video when she was in China competing for a show. DC invited a dancer to serve for Handong’s place with a black mask. Handong was back in Odd Eye and DC prepared this Distopia version with her ending with the black mask indicating “hey bitch I’m back”. I’m like “you can kick my ass any time and I’m happy with it”. The 3 clothing in the Distopia video shows 3 videos, the hat one from Odd Eye, the black suit from Scream, the red one from Boca. They blend different moves and clothing and Gahyeon’s white mask so perfectly in the Distopia version. This is why so many insomnias love this one.

The masked dancer in Scream was their choreographer and performance director Hwang Sooyeon, btw....EDIT: Mianhae! She confirmed it during an interview that ppl mistake her as the masked dancer, but she was not. 😁😅

Pat, for Dystopia Ver. of Odd Eye, it depicted Handong's presence During Scream, Boca, and Black Or White promotion time. It was also the first time InSomnia knows what kind of outfit Handong will wear during the promotion time... as the Dreamworld rules say "Never leave your family member out" so the key item to take notice of here is the hat from Black or White performance, Odd Eye Jacket Photoshoot Outfit, Scream Black Mask, Boca Shed Tear Flag (this is my own naming since the album for Boca consisted of 4 version which is S.H.E.D and the vocal point/center of the Dream catcher ( if you noticed All of the album covers, it is all like a Dream catcher - the talisman/amulet ) is like a drop of tear, hence the name... and another thing to add in my own interpretation, some times when the bullying is too hard to cope with, the one who get bullied overcome the feelings by destroying things, which is why the flag in Boca-Zombie version is tattered)

Their performance director Hwang Sooyeon is not only a genius but also an almost-idol. I think she was on Produce48 before sticking to dancing and becoming their main choreographer. She is currently on tour with Red Velvet so hopefully she will be back for the comeback. (As it's the Apocalypse end they will probably have background dancers? They had only the guys in Maison and the women in Vision. So Bon Voyage could be all of them again or none, the members said the choreo will be different, like the music, so let's see.) If you watch a lot of their dance videos you'll see familiar faces because although the dancers seem to be self-employed or at least dancing for a lot of idols, DCC always brings them back which is really cute. Anyway she's close to SuA, there was a really funny live they did together in Boca era I think and they even have a similar laugh🤣😭

Hwang Sooyeon, along with the other members of the pre-debut group that Happyface Entertainment had intended to promote after MINX's debut, were contestants on Produce 101 in 2016. After MINX flopped, the company had to decide whether to retool MINX as Dreamcatcher or to debut the group of which Sooyeon was the leader - they did not have the resources to do both. All of the members of Sooyeon's group (it never had an official name and is often referred to as its code-name "Die.A Project") were eliminated in the first few rounds and that pretty much sealed the deal: Die.A Project was cancelled and all of the trainees, including Sooyeon, left the company. Sooyeon looked for another opportunity to debut as an idol, but in the end she focused on contract dancing and stayed in touch with Dreamcatcher after their debut (and as you mentioned, she is close with all the members, especially SuA). When Dreamcatcher's original choreographer Choi Sun Hi took a staff position with SM Entertainment in 2019, Sooyeon returned to Happyface, now known as Dreamcatcher Company, as choreographer and performance director. For the first couple of years, this was a full-time staff position; Sooyeon was in charge of training the pre-debut group that Happyface/Dreamcatcher company was preparing. Unfortunately the pandemic put a serious financial squeeze on Dreamcatcher Company and in early 2022 that pre-debut group was cancelled (the company basically cut anything and everything they could in order to keep the lights on without tour revenue). Sooyeon is still Dreamcatcher's choreographer and performance director, but that has shifted to a part-time role. When she is not working directly with Dreamcatcher, Sooyeon has been taking some dance and teaching jobs but primarily she has been supervising the training of TripleS at Modhaus (and to answer the obvious question: no, I have not heard anything about whether she is also working with ARTMS, Modhaus' plan to resurrect LOONA).

Yes I saw the planning of the new group and was sad it fell through but in the end the market right now is so saturated and I feel like DCC has always been a group to push their luck. Like it always works out for them in the end but who knows if that would also work out for their sister group. But I love their casting choices, just looking at DC but also Sooyeon makes it so interesting to see a new group. And the trainees were all a bit older I think. Ah seriously such a loss but again I'm aware that they're still not in safe waters and they seem to have a tight grip on their finances but obviously I don't wanna see DC affected (as in, since they're not big4 a new group wouldn't be a self-runner). Maybe in the future, the fact that they at least had a gg in mind is good. Maybe the market calms down a bit, I feel like there has to be a big bang later this year. Like it's going too well for too many groups if you know what I mean. Also what concept would they have? HFE experienced the hard way that riding the red ocean didn't work and right now there's this NewJeans era I fell. Creepy is already settled with DC, Purki and a few nugu groups. Even Gfriend like stuff and cute stuff is coming back so what's left? I don't think they can afford another fighter group that only gets recognition after over 5 years. Really, nothing about ARTMS? You seem to be an insider😄😌

@@moongirl8807 I am not a super-insider - I have had brief chats with Sooyeon on Instagram from time to time, but mostly I just pay close attention to what gets said in interviews and posted on social media and then try to put the pieces together. Some of it is just basic public information - such as the members of Die.A Project being on Produce 101, being eliminated in the early rounds, Happyface cancelling the group, and then seeing what the members were doing afterwards. I am sure there is more to the decision to retool MINX as Dreamcatcher than JUST the Die.A Project members not doing well on P101, but from what we on the outside know, it's fairly straightforward to create a basic timeline of events. For a small company, Dreamcatcher Company did a pretty great job managing the pandemic. They were one of the first to jump on streaming concerts and while it wasn't the same as ongoing tour revenue, it was better than nothing (*cough* MNH Entertainment *cough*). But they did have to pinch pennies (or KRW), especially in 2021/early 2022. They tried to keep the trainee girl group (code-named Happyface Girls) going but with the company's finances and the glut of girl group debuts, I think they just didn't see a route to profitability, and there was no point in keeping the trainees in the company if they were never going to debut. Similarly, the company tried to keep their boy group D1CE intact by having the members do their military service during the pandemic, but in the end D1CE disbanded in January 2023. Even Dreamcatcher felt the pinch - fewer special clips and less variety content. It's better now, by far, with successful tours last summer and this spring, but the company seems to be keeping the pursestrings tighter than before - for example, only doing two weeks of music show promotions (which I am pretty sure the company has to pay for) rather than three or four during the last few comebacks. Similarly, the company is also VERY small: recently they posted a job listing for a new marketing director and mentioned that the company has fewer than 25 employees (including the group members). The company WILL have to create a new group eventually - Dreamcatcher can't go on forever and with no other revenue, the company has all of its eggs in one basket. But so far I haven't seen any signs of the company auditioning for new trainees. I don't know much more about ARTMS than what we see reported in Korean media and in Jaden Jeong's interview with NME a few weeks ago. With Hyunjin and ViVi now free, I think we will see them join Modhaus pretty quickly as Jaden clearly WANTS to reassemble all the members of LOONA, and I think being part of ARTMS is a better deal than they could get in just about any other situation. But legally I don't think they could begin contract talks with Modhaus until after the ruling on their situation with BlockBerry Creative, so it might be a few weeks before there is any announcement (and Jaden is mostly keeping his mouth shut about the members still at BlockBerry to avoid any appearance of interfering in the ongoing court cases). Chuu hasn't said a word about her plans with regard to ARTMS. It's entirely possible that Sooyeon may have created choreography for the ARTMS/Odd Eye Circle redebut, but she hasn't said anything about it. She has been working as one of the dancers on the Red Velvet tour, so I doubt that she has been "hands on" with the ARTMS members like she has been with TripleS in the past (also the ARTMS members have years of experience in LOONA - they don't need the close supervision that trainees do).

the Odd Eye Dystopia version - they wear their previous costumes when Handong was not with them specifically, Scream and Boca costumes. in a behind-the-scene video, i think Yoohyeon said the hat is from Black or White, she wants Handong to wear the hats too because she missed it. Yes, we are always full. sometimes they go into silent mode, but that's just indicating their comeback is on the horizon. have you pre-orederd your album yet?
