I used to be afraid of flying, not heights, more like a malfunction. I’m a former mechanic and just worried about everything. I took some private pilots lessons in a single engine and the human mind is so wild I thought “well this is still safer, less parts, no turbines”- the fact is these commercial airliners have safely been carrying THOUSANDS of people around the world daily for decades. These planes carry more than enough fuel, are piloted by guys that are very educated, some have flown combat missions, this is a piece of cake. Unfortunately we do hear of crashes and they make such news but that’s only because it’s rare and generally pretty spectacular in comparison to the thousands of automobile accidents that happen daily and hundreds of fatalities. This is an incredibly safe way to travel and you have nothing to fear. When that bad boy is taking off take comfort in the ease that it lifts you off the ground and propels you into its natural environment. It wants to he in the air and carry you with it. It will complete ite fight and bring you to your destination no problem.::.enjoy your flight!!

seems to be a few technological advancements in the cockpit ,joystick now being used, gear steering done separately, cams on the tail and under fuselage for outside view ,more instrument panels etc
@TdotSoul2 жыл бұрын
Joystick has always been an Airbus thing. Not sure what you mean by the gear steering some separately. If you mean that they are using rudder pedals to steer the plane on the ground, that's how it's done.
@ARCSTREAMS2 жыл бұрын
@@TdotSoul i mean from what i know the landing gear nose wheel is usually steered by the yoke or perhaps alternate foot pedals but i see the pilot now using a small knob handle on the left next to his joystick for that ,,no the ruder pedals can only be used when there is adequate air flow over the rudders when in flight and not typically done when landing or taking off unless there is some kind of emergency or necessity
@TdotSoul2 жыл бұрын
@@ARCSTREAMS trust me, he's using the rudder pedals. No plane that I know if ever uses the yoke/joystick to turn the wheels. It's not a steering wheel like in your car. The rudder pedals double as controls for the nose wheel (or rear wheel in tail-dragers). Air doesn't flow over the rudder, by the way, because it's a vertical control surface, it flows around it.
@TdotSoul2 жыл бұрын
@@ARCSTREAMS also, the rudder is frequently used when landing and taking off to counter crosswinds. You can't roll when you're near the ground in order to correct your heading because you migh scrape your wing tip, but you can yaw.
@ARCSTREAMS2 жыл бұрын
@@TdotSoul how can he use rudder pedals when taxing so slow?? rudder movement will not do anything unless as i said there is enough air flow around(over whatever) the rudder ,this can be done during landing or takeoff to steady the plane yes but not during taxi or positioning on the tarmac or runway doing 10 to 30 mph like he was , look at 16:19 he has his hand over that knob or what looks like a small steering wheel next to his joystick ,he using it to control the nose wheel to steer the plane , the rudder pedals do the job of steering the plane in the air or possibly on the runway if the plane is going fast enough ,other than that steering wheel knob which is something i never seen it is usually pedals that steer the nose wheel when on the runway ,im not sure if the same pedals control both rudder then switch to nose gear or there are separate pairs of pedals?,, i do not know but im sure rudder is useless at slow speed

Why at 13:05 (exactly at V1) did the captain remove his hand from the throttle, and make an expressive gesture that he was doing so? Also, is it harder for a right-handed person to manage the joystick from the left seat? I know as a right-hander, I can't manage my computer mouse very well using my left hand. Nice video. Thanks.
@3x3-x3x-oXo3 жыл бұрын
Yes at V1 the t/o cannot be aborted any more without overrunning the runway. So you remove your hand to avoid doing that by mistake. For the joystick, it's not that different from any other airplane, where in manual flight the captain has to use his left hand on the yoke because the right hand is on the throttles.

It's PTP, Point à Pitre Le Raizet in Guadeloupe, French overseas department. The destination is simple : Paris Orly. Except during the height of 2020's first lockdown where Orly temporarily closed and all traffic diverted to CDG. Air Caraïbes only flies between Paris Orly and overseas departments and territories with the A350. So the origin or destination is always ORY/LFPO for Air Caraïbes heavies. The origin airport, PTP, has multiple heavies everyday : Air France super high density 777-300ER, Corsair and Air Caraïbes (callsign French West). These 3 companies do the "metropolitan air bridge" as Guadeloupe, like the other Antilles French islands of Martinique (FDF) and Saint Martin (SXM binational French & Dutch island) are linked to Paris Orly several times a day by high density heavy aircrafts that operate as domestic long hauls. It's to France what Hawaii is to USA. Sadly those flights are usually real "bétaillères", cattle transports, as they stuff way too much passengers on those planes, like they were mere short domestic hops... But they all take between 7 and 9 hours ! Air Caraïbes is a pretty good carrier though. The peak season is usually during metropolitan France's winter when thousands of French mainlanders flock to the sun of these islands. BTW I was conceived on the other large island, Martinique as many other other of my fellow nationals. It's a baby making factory as these islands are popular honeymoon destinations.

Nice spaceship launch. The good part with this aircraft is that it is cheaper than building an MSFS PC to play with this aircraft at 60fps stable.

Common languages between pilots and ATC are sometimes (but not always) spoken. Everyone in aviation can speak English, but some can also speak other languages. I’m not sure when or why this happens, but I’ve seen it several times.
@lupinvaenget133 жыл бұрын
@@shittywheelies7403 Well, in my opinion this should not take place !

Whilst they have to be able to speak English, if ATC and pilots first language is French it is easier to communicate as they don’t hog up the radio trying to speak a language that isn’t their mother tongue and taking more time whilst other pilots are waiting. There are I think 6 official languages that can be spoken. Pilots don’t know 100% English language. Only the most important words they’ll need to know to fly a plane

It's a shame that you are unable to know an another language than English. ATC is speaking French because there are in France and all others pilots on the freq are French. If a non French speaking pilot comes on freq they will speak English with him, what is your problem with that ?

Great bit of cockpit footage. When I saw the turning point I thought that would be tough for a truck let alone an airliner! Get the tarmac man out quick! Very scenic runway though and wow, what a modern plane the a350 is.

They do speak English in the cockpit... The French you heard is the ATC. And no, it's not only in France... It's exactly the same in Germany, Spain, Italy or Russia... Local pilots tend to speak in their mother tongue with controllers in major aviation countries.
