@andydhillon1977 I just remember we had a car in where both front tires were completely down. I mean really even formula one cars have more thread on it. Unfortunately there was a baby seat in the car as well. Luckily the MOT in Germany is pretty hard and those death traps are getting thrown away. Here on KZbin I saw a short video about changing the entire frame. Maybe that would be a idea. And yes costs of hourly rates are getting up as well.

@2:29 to be fair my heater core once sprung a leak in the middle of winter and I lived in an apartment with no garage. So I ran the heater core line back to the engine cutting off the heater core, then picked up one of those million candle power hand held flood lights and stuck in in my jacket while I was driving. That kept me toasty. The only problem was my breath caused the inside of the windshield to get frost on it so I had to continually scrape it so I could see outside. Longest winter of my life.

I've been a technician for almost 30 years and I have seen my fair share of these . The best one was a lady was concerned that her 2005 neon would vibrate and pause then vibrate roughly 4 times every time she accelerated from a stop.....I had her take me for a test drive. Yes, it was the vehicle shifting gears. I had her stop the car and let me out and I proceeded to walk 12 block back to the shop.

I live in Texas, we do not use salt on road ice but , sand. Rarely is frame rust a problem except when cars have been submerged during hurricanes or cars on the Gulf Coast that have been driven on the beach.
