Man, I used to love Realm Royale, it's so sad to see it fail once again. It unfortunately didn't convince me to jump back at at the game, I saw no ad, no friend of mine stuck around long enough and in the end we just stuck to the FTP games that felt worth playing most.

Realm royale reforged should have launched with the content it got over the next year. The launch it got was basically just a glorified balance patch, and over the next year it got a new map, class, gamemode, battle pass, and weapons. They should have waited.

Started just before the 2020 update (which was the last update for 2 years). I had 2.5k hours in this game. I absolutely loved it, despite its flaws. Starting from the getgo, they relied too much on bots, and their servers couldn't handle more than 15 real players. That's what killed the game from the start IMO. Then, Reforged... Ah, Reforged. They didn't fix either of these issues, and just made the game far too clunky to play on controller. They took away beloved weapons, and changed the game far too drastically all at once. Yeah, these might have been things people originally asked for, but the player base that stuck around were used to the same thing for TWO YEARS. You can't just turn that all up on its head and expect success unless you do EVERYTHING right. Which they didn't. I will forever miss being able to tap someone with a shredder and slap then with a gold Soul Gust and do 1200 damage in an instant. I have some epic clips of this game, but sadly that's all I have.

I miss the bolt staff for the mage, it was my favourite mag weapon. My friend and me still play it (have been playing it a lot lately) but we hate they removed the duo option as most of the time we're stuck with either a bot or someone who clearly doesn't know how to play the game. I've been looking for people to join us but that is not easy as most don't want to play the game anymore haha.

I had over 5K hrs in this game, I got an invite to play it in the "beta test" if you can cal it that - back in January 2019. Loved it so much, especially that when you "die" you turn into a chicken and you have a 50/50% chance to have a second chance, as long as you kept yourself alive before getting fully finished. I played it form 2019-2021 mid 21 I quit. There were too much changes at that point, and I had to re-learn the new movement and game mechanics every other week. I went back in 2022 - Lets just say that I played like two or three games, before uninstalling it again.

I liked the game, I felt it was better than Fortnite because it had no builds But now, why would I play Realm Royale instead of Fortnite No Build ? I've tried Realm Royale and I played against bots until the moment I met a tryhard who deleted me (and the whole game I had the sound when you fall on loop, so that's a stupid and irritating bug) Might try again tbh but I don't see how they could turn things around, that's quite sad

Me as a kind of smal contend creator doing Realm Royale contend have to say that the game itself doesnt feel dead at all. Since the map got smaler the matches got a faster pace and still you are able to find lobbys with nearly 60 real players out of 70. Still i would love to see more ppl coming back to this game since it is still one ofd the best BR Games at least in my opinion 👍 Still a very well made vidoe dude :)

Ah i see youve met Hirez Studios. Theyve done this to every game except smite, ive been playing smite for 10 years and this is a meme in the community. They have created (and killed): Realm Royale, Smite Tactics, Hand of the gods, Jetpack fighter, Rouge company, Paladins, Smite rivals, Bot Smashers, and Divine Knockout (Currently going through being ignored like realm royale was). Smite is their money source and it is on its decline (devs currently asking the community what they want from a smite 2). TLDR; Do not expect success from anything created by Hirez.

I grinded this game in 2018 like a maniac. I played daily 6-8 hrs a day, I was competing in fanmade tournaments, played solo vs squad and stuff like that it was a blast I loved it so much sad how poorly Hi-Rez did there job

I used to play this game daily but I really feel like what killed it for me is that it got boring fast after you hit max rank. After hitting max rank it also took forever to get in a game and even then only like five real players were in the rest were all bots. Not to mention the leaving system for the different characters felt unrewarding and like a chore to do. (Imo)

I LOVE Realm and my friend and me still play it on occasion. We can definitely tell when there are players and there are bots, but we think there are still a decent amount of good, challenging players on there. I have that they removed Duo though as most of the time we're stuck with a bot or someone who isn't a good player.

I think this game needs a newer engine to have better graphics and needs to focus on making the gameplay more smooth, then simplify the classes to not be overly different from each other like when you could use any weapon and having the right class would buff a certain weapon instead I think we should fly down with a signature weapon that can’t be changed and every time the circle gets smaller the weapon upgrades then you can pick up a second weapon which consists of weapons any class can use (sig weapon can be picked before dropping in) starter ability should also upgrade every circle phase and class buffs shouldn’t be too drastic but enough to make a difference. Also slightly smaller map for faster pace. I would love to work on this game(I’m a game developer) it’s such great idea that just needs a bit of passion and love for the game to thrive

Realm was destroyed by bad development, bad decisions. Current Realm is just a crazy attempt of throwing everything to the wall to see what sticks, but done in a very amateurish and not well thought way. They made random changes that make no sense and delivered something that no developer should ever be proud of. Playerbase vanished because the game is now too flawed and the gameplay was turned into it's lowest skill level ever.

I've been playing Paladins since 2017 with 5000+ steam hours. I have seen Hirez at their peak and witnessed its descent into incompetency. Realm released around Paladins' peak, drawing time and money away from Paladins and other games which needed and honestly deserved it more. There was very little competition for hero shooters 5 years ago, and unfortunately Paladins received cut-back after cut-back for other IP such as Realm, Rogue Company and Divine Knockout, a 3D platform brawler based off of Smite. You are certainly correct that Hirez and its smaller development teams have a severe lack in understanding what their players like and what the identities of their games should be. So much so that Paladins elected a team of community representatives to collect feedback from the players and inform the developers on what to do. It frustrates me to no end. This wasn't supposed to be a rant comment, but I wanted to share how I've witnessed the limitless potential of these games, only for the company to fumble the bag and ruin the reputation of Hirez Studios.

Hi Rez is pretty good at figuring out what trend the game industry is going to follow next. Smite competing with LoL and DOTA was the base of it. Then came Paladins when the Hero Shooter genre started to blow up and from this game came out Paladins Strike ( a mobile version) and Realm Royale as BRs started to gain popularity. Later they published Rogue Company as the CSGO type of games started to pop out. Each one of this games had something different that made them stand out from the competition, but every time they failed to build on that and ended up going the quick cash grab way instead of really putting the time to fix them.

Loved this game a ton and was super sad t9 see it go down. I wish people wouod still play. Me and my kid tried last night but even on solo it just sat there and never loaded a match. Honestly, i was hoping we could just do bot matches because my 7 year old remembers watching me and his mom play when he was too little to get the controls down. I prefer the gameplay during 2020 or 2021? (i think) when you had total freedom and no armor pieces. I prefer it to reforged, but with reforged I liked that they brought back Engineer, new stuff like the warrior spear, and new map. However, I prefer Realm Royale in its final pre-reforged state even if it made classes less important. I still felt that the perks and forging requirements were enough to play each class and feel it fit a certain play style without being too restrictive. The weekend events were fun as well, but the game didn't get proper support and felt dead for a long time. Even when the game was getting better in 2019 and 2020 I felt it was dying and the amount of bots ruined it.

I started to play realm in its early stages and i tink im 1 of the few that still plays it for me it was a very sad change over the years especially for me that started to notice that i was actually very good at playing it. When Reforged launched i started to tink that maybe the game whould come back from the ashes but it was still to broken for that, unfortunatly they removed some of the most fun itens the game had and i tink that was what ultimatly made some people to go and stop playing realm .

Saying a game is dead, or failed, or whatever is just a tactic to get people to watch the video. While Realm hasn't made a huge splash since Reforged, it hasn't failed by any means. There is still players and updates coming to the game. Everyone expects multiple updates every month for games these days. We've had new modes, weapons and abilities, battle pass, returning classes, new skins and more since Reforged launched. Given the fact that it is a VERY small team working on the game, I think they have far exceeded expectations. Only reason why no one really knows about Reforged is due to the lack of marketing. You don't see any ads for it anywhere. If the game was marketed properly, there would be a huge influx of players, and with more consistent updates, most of the players would stay. Nice video and all, but I just think calling it a failure is way off the mark.

I think Reforged was highly disappointing. It's a glorified balance patch. More content was *removed* than was added(RIP Shredder, Hammer, Talents and Runes, old map, etc.), the developers have not engaged with the community meaningfully for well over half a year, and the 4 devs don't even have Realm as their main project anymore. The game is well and truly on the decline and the "new" content they've added(new map of reused assets, Ancient weapons are straight-up old removed content like the Ice Longbow and Bolt Staff but buffed) isn't making up for all the shit they've removed. The game may not be dead but the relaunch failed to revitalize hype in Realm and is actually worse off than it was in OB23 gameplay wise. There are fewer viable builds, each class plays very similarly every match due to class-locking, and TTV nerds infest the game nonstop making it impossible for new players to learn the game with people of their skill level.

I just remembered another issue I had with pre-reforged realm royale. I liked the forge endings in team based modes because of the revival mechanic, but having forge endings in solos was boring and this was a change that I felt made the game more repetitive. I liked the previous versions of realm royale having very random parts of the map as the final circle for solo mode. I could almost consider 3 different versions of Realm Royale prior to reforged. The first version was the popular time in alpha, the 2nd version of alpha Realm royale which removed forge temporarily killed the game imo and then they reversed the decision too late which started the whole bot fiasco, the 3rd was the very end of realm royale which was my favorite except for bots. I think I would have preferred they added more stuff like goblins to the maps to give us interaction, sky dragons. I honestly liked the last version of Fungal Jungle the best before reforged reverted it back. Honestly, I had a lot of fun with the game and the bots were the primary problem at the end. If anything mechanically needed to change it was to decrease the aim assist or hitbox size.
