These songs from the film are filmed and sung live, so it’s not a pre recording. The day she filmed this song, she got a call that her friend who had been battling cancer for a long while was not doing well. So she left set and raced to go see her and missed her chance to say goodbye by about 10 minutes. So she laid down with her friend and didn’t know what to do, and the now widowed husband reminded her that her friend loved performance and music and would want her to go back to work and film. So within an hour or so after her friend passing she went back to set and sang I’ll Never Love Again, The emotions are real and raw.

Just to give you a back story. I saw her doing an interview discussing this song. Her emotions are really coming through because on that day, she was on set and got a phone call that her close friend, who suffered from cancer for a few years was not doing well. She dropped everything and rushed over to her house but by the time she got there, Sonja (her friend) passed away 15 minutes earlier and was completely crushed and out of her wits but her husband said "do what Sonja would wanted you to do", so later that day she returned to set as this song was planned but was clearly upset. Bradley told her that she didn't have to do it, they can do it another day but she insisted in powering through it which is why you can hear her almost falling into tears at the end where you can clearly hear her quick double breathing as if she's crying. She is literally holding back the tears

You are my favorite reviewer hands down! You know what you’re talking about! We have similar tastes in music and I always agree with you! 😂 You often take the words right out of my mouth! So many vocal coach/reviewers stop the videos every few seconds to talk and it drives me mad!!! Just listen! Feel the music! Focus on the vocals and then talk. Thank you for playing the whole thing and then giving your review. I don’t mind your comments during it’s when people stop it and do so like 10 times that I get frustrated. You’re absolutely right. This song is a masterpiece. It’s a combination of a lot of things that makes it a masterpiece. The lyrics are beautiful and perfectly fitting and her voice is amazing. Add that to clips from the movie which she and Bradley Cooper both should win awards for and it’s just incredibly moving. The song itself is a 10 add the clips and it’s taken to a new level.
