Finally, someone else that uses the back bump of the starting chain! It makes for a nicer finished edge or easier edge to add a border. I always start in the back bump unless a pattern specifically states otherwise.
@bobmorgan15754 ай бұрын
That's how my grandmother taught me to start a pattern so many decades ago.
@firegodessreiko4 ай бұрын
It's either back bump or the starting chain for me!.... The one where you basically chain and do row 1 at the same time? There's probably a better name.... Regardless, it makes for such even tension when working flat, but definitely does not always apply to a pattern.
@ColorwaveCraftsCo4 ай бұрын
@@firegodessreikois it called foundation chain? I’ve never been able to figure it out but I’m sure I’ve read that term before
@estherdail13344 ай бұрын
@@ColorwaveCraftsCo What helped me master foundation chain was to know what each part was doing, like that first chain made before doing a stitch as normal is actually forming the anchor point for the next stitch, where the hook will be going. Then I keep it from curling by allowing that chain portion to be as loose as it wants to be (as putting the next stitch in it will tighten it right up).

I think the square piece was at the end of the piece and a button sewed behind it to hook through the other end so you could wrap it around the curtain easier. Other than that it looks very good, I like it with or without fringe. I only say about the square piece as I have seen them before.

Color it nailed, because that's exactly what you did. You go, Gurl! I'm sure you can redesign this for a pair of garters, but I think the fringe would not only be overkill (who would see it?), it would get in the way of the connecting straps. I didn't join you on this one; I'm still fairly new to the steel hook game, and a 19" chain would have taken me the better part of a week to complete the first row. As it turns out, I have no curtains, so I wouldn't need a set of these. But you did your usual great job. Keep 'em coming, we'll keep watching!
