I bought my Ender 3 V2 yesterday. Put it together last night. I wish I'd watched this video before I built it. This video is far better than the instructions that come with the printer. First, the instructions don't identify which struts go where. I figured it out, but it would have been nice if they had identified them by the location of the holes like Vlad did. I also neglected to make sure the preinstalled screws were tight. I'll do that when I get home from work. The next problem is that the instructions tell you to install the x-axis tensioner and pulley before you install the hot end. If you did it that way, you'll be taking it apart to install the hot end on the x-axis rail before you install the tensioner. Nowhere in the instructions does it mention that the rollers have eccentric adjusters. I got to check that, too. The instructions don't tell you to lower all your plate adjusting screws before leveling it, and consequently, I put a scratch in mine because I neglected to do that. Instructions don't say what to do with the zip ties either. I was still able to build, level, and fire up this thing in about an hour, but it would have been so much easier if Creality would have included THIS video with their printer instead of the one they did include. This looks like a very well thought out machine. I haven't printed anything yet, but I look forward to putting it through its paces later this evening. I have to give props to Vlad for producing an excellent video. Liked and subscribed.

It is very good. The included instructions are virtually unreadable to me, and this video makes a great replacement. I find it quite irritating when he uses the word "bolt" for screws, bolts *and nuts, and when he says "axes" instead of "axis" but if that's all I can find to complain about they amount to nothing.

it is absurdly cool to see you printed those gears and that octopus in one piece, and yet they still moved. I remember using enterprise 3d printers not that long ago, not only couldn't you print moving parts assembled in one print, but also if you even tried something close to it it all would collapse, melt, or join together.

Thanks for that wonderfull video. It will help many people setting up these printers. There is one small mistake tho, but thats somethink like a myth that every 3d printing enthusiasts will beleive in at some point. Setting the printer to Z=0.00mm and then leveling the bed with a sheet of paper will result in an uncorrectly leveled bed. If you think about it that becomes clear: The printer does not start the print at Z=0.00mm. It does start at Z=0.00mm + layerheight. So if you have a layerheight of the first layer of 0.2mm it will start at 0.2mm. If you level the bed to 0.00mm + paper thickness you will level it somewhere like 0.1mm off. So at the end the printer will start at Z=0.00mm + layerheight + paper thickness and thats something like 0.3mm in that example. So better is to autohome, then move z axis up for the thickness of the paper (messure with caliper) and then level the bed to the paper. That way you are elliminating the thickness of the paper and the printer will start at Z=0.00mm + layerheight as it should. Better than paper is to buy some feeler gauges and use a 0.1mm gauge or something like that and set the z axis while leveling the nozzle to the bed to exactly that thickness of the gauge. Maybe that will help more people to get a good first layer sticking perfectly to the bed. The more precise you level the bed, the better the first layer and the bed adhesion will be. There is NO need on that ultrabase bed for any other materials like glue, hairspray, tape or anything like that. If it does not stick correctly try to level the bed the way i told and maybe raise the bed temperature a few degrees. especially petg may need up to 85 degree celcius (185 fahrenheit) to stick well. Nice greetings from germany.

Great video! It's the most detailed and actually useful video on the E3V2 so far. And this accurately shows how loud those fans are! From watching other videos I thought it would be a lot quieter than it really is. When you tightened the bolts, the ones that were 'really loose' were only that loose because you tightened the first ones which pulled the parts closer together. If you tightened the other ones first the opposite bolts would seem excessively loose.

Great video, I used it to put my Ender3 V2 together. Good news is that my first print came out pretty much perfect (the dog from the flash). Bad news was getting the Z axis going well. My problem was binding from the Z motor, which was making it hard for the gantry to raise and lower. After about three hours, I figured out that you could adjust the screws on the plastic bit just above the motor and push it out about 1mm away from the channel. I could also have done the same with the hole it feeds into on the gantry assembly. That would have been good to know, glad yours didn’t have the issue. I literally started from scratch to redo the build! That said, for the printer to have such a good first print shows that your technique of building loose then tightening was excellent advice. As an engineer, I generally do this anyway, but it was nice to get the reminder. Also, that Z driveshaft is SO LUBED. There was lube everywhere, and having the piece connecting the motor shaft to the z driveshaft with the screws so difficult to see, I spent about half my time just futzing with it. Almost worth it to wipe it down a bit. Very good stuff, have a tip

@@AJ-yg6ii try tightening down your bed all the way snug, not over tight. Now, on the side, make sure your Z stop board is as low as you can bolt it on. Also, make sure your screw shaft coupler is as close to the motor without binding as possible. Beyond that, I would recommend rewatching the video at those points and compare your printer to his.

Thanks so much for the video. The only thing that wasn't obvious until after I started tightening up screws, was when you put the top bar on, to make sure the cable and filament feed are inside the z axis profiles (side rails). A super helpful instructional video.

this video was a better way to assemble the 3d printer than the instruction manual that comes with it. I had an issue that my printing was hard to move up and down. Here you showed that I should not tighten the screws right away. Instead, have it lose until all the parts are in place. thanks.

When I screw in the motor for the vertical axis, it's off at a slight angle, not perfectly perpendicular to the bar it's attached to. It seems this is creating fricton as I cannot freely move the print head up and down like you can with one hand. Do I have a defective motor assembly?
@09shnngns

Same thing is happening to me right this moment. I wish he or someone would have responded cause I don’t know what to do! When I try to push the assembly bar down it jumps and whines and takes a lot of force. And forget about trying to push it UP away from the bed.

The only thing I found that helped mine was to print a shim I found off Thingiverse. There’s a shim for the bottom and side of the z axis motor and it helped make the lead screw a little more perpendicular to the vertical frame bar.

Thank you. Creality should pay you for this. You put my printer together. One issue I had was driving that lead screw through the brass bushing - as mine was fixed by screwes with those cut spring-like washers it was inclined. So it was impossible to drive the lead screw through as they were no in-line. I had to loosen those screws, drive the lead screw through the bushing and then once the horizontal arm was riding on the frame tighten those 2 little screws. Thus the bushing was fixed in proper position.

I still managed to screw a couple of things backward, despite your visuals, but still, the assembly took me less than two hours! What can I do when my tires are really tight on the side of the motor? like I can not move the x axis at all by pushing it down. he speaks about it 22:48 (I did everything as suggested in the video with screws not tightening until the end)

Rest the extruder on bed and make sure its level so that the bed supports the weight and is level. Loosen everything on the wheels after having the frame tighten as per the video. With the weight supported by the bed and level you can tighten the wheels so that nothing is binding. Follow the rest of the video as he describes. If you can't loosen the nut you'll need the wrench on the nut and the allen wrench on the bolt. If you do one and not the other the bolt or nut will spin with no resistance.

@@maclennan.realestate Nope, unfortunately I did not. When I do auto-home and to try print something, the filament is not sticking to the bed. Not sure if its caused by that wheels problem or bad bed-leveling.

@@marcelkoprowski3816 I believe I fixed mine. The bracket holding the two side bars together was a bit too tight putting too much tent lion on the wheels. Also, if you go back in the video where he loosens the nuts around the actual printer head to make them loser that helped me as well. Overall, I’d say keep it a bit more lose than tight especially around the plastic parts - and make sure your belts aren’t too lose either.
