Curl pattern isn't the only thing to consider when comparing your hair to someone else's! Hair porosity, density, and texture (fine, medium, coarse) are also factors to consider. You can have the same curl pattern as someone, but not achieve the same results as them when you buy and apply the products they put in their hair and use the same styling methods they do because your hair's porosity, density, and/or texture aren't the same as theirs. I thought I'd let you know this because I don't want you to be disappointed and dumbfounded if the things he does on his hair doesn't work for yours too despite you two having the same curl pattern. If you tried what he did and it worked because your hair shares similarities with his beyond curl pattern, congratulations! I'm happy for you!

First off I’m telling you sir, if you’re really low porosity, apply your leave in the shower with the warm water and steam. the cuticles will be open, so that the leave in can really penetrate the shaft. Especially once you add a plastic cap and let it sit for like 10 mins while you finish your shower or whatever. This allows you to use less product and really concentrate more on styling. I have so much to say, but I’m gonna leave it here

My hair is 4c too, make sure that after you detangle, add your leave-in / curling creams, add your styling gel by raking it through your strands (like how he does in the video). Don’t be stingy with the gel, and after that spray water all throughout your hair (get it mad wet). I tried this and I went from a stiff fro to shakeable and defined curls.
